We just finished up dinner and it was good even if I did cook it myself. I cooked for six people and probably had five dollars in the whole meal. Not bad. We had chicken and dumplings, peas, cornbread, corn on the cob, and sweet potatoes. Butterscotch pudding for dessert. I hate to admit it but I didn`t make the pudding from scratch it was instant. Hannah wanted to make it. I didn`t have time. She also made the cornbread. I am full and it is time for a nap.
I do love to cook Sunday dinner. I look forward to it. I think so many people spend their Sunday dinners at a restaurant not at the family table. Yes, I am big on sitting down at the table for dinner. I didn`t use to be. But I think it is important to spend dinner time as a family. Guess that is about it for now.
Yes, it is very important to sit down as a family to eat. My mom use to always have "Sunday dinners".She loves to cook and always looked forward to it. Now every one has their own families and their own busy lives so she doe not have them as often.
As for eating out on Sundays, we don't do it any more. God tells us not to work on Sunday and if I go out to eat then I am causing someone else to work. This is causing our brothers to stumble which is against what God tells us to do.This is a new conviction for me and I am loving it. It feels so good to know that I am truly following that commandment.
It is good to see that some families are still having Sunday dinners together.
