Just wanted to share what Hannah done today. We spent time in the kitchen today cooking. I showed her how to made the biscuits, the fried apples and the gravy. I got her started and she did the rest. I did fry the bacon. I cooked the greens. I made the pickled banny eggs. She did help a little with them. Hard to believe Hannah will be ten in just a couple of weeks. She is growing into a beautiful young lady. She is wanting to learn how to do everything. When I teach her things, it reminds me of my grandmother teaching me at her age. No matter what I wanted to learn she would take the time to teach me. My grandmother was never to busy when it came to teach me homemaking skills. I sometimes wonder if she ever knew how much it meant to me. I was so blessed to have the grandmothers I had.
Well this has been my day so far:
I slept in a little bit
I cooked breaksfast
Feed and watered the chickens
Made milk for the calves
got max`s food ready
Cleaned on the chicken coop. I have been taking the chicken dropping I get and putting it on my new garden spot.
put wood in the woodburner
I had to go down in the basement and fix the water filters so they would backwash.
I visited a while with my grandpaw
Then Hannah and I went into the kitchen and started cooking
She took a plate over for my papaw. Of course he bragged on her and asked her if she was going to cook for her husband some day. She got embrassed and said "yes".
My cousin just called and asked if I was coming down to her dads fifty b-day party. I am so tired and have a couple of other things I need to get done. To be honest I really do not want to go. But I guess I will. Guess that is all for now.

Great Work! Tell Hannah I said so!
BTW....Gravy is one of my very favorite foods!

It's good to see a post by you again, I have missed them.
You all cook like we do, good old southern cooking.
My mom taught me all the old ways of life, she learned from her mother. My grandma was a wonderful cook and so is my mom.
You are blessed to have had such a loving grandma, who took time for you.Now you are carrying on her teachings by giving them to your daughter.
