• Tuesday, January 8, 2008 - Update on friends pony
I didn`t really get to enjoy my birthday. I spend the biggest part of the day with my friend helping her with the pony. I am sad to say the pony died. I was surprised when she told me she had made it though the night. She was one sick pony. I have been around horses all my life and I had no clue what to do. She did get in touch with the vet and he was coming in the morning. She would have been the first call of the day. He did seem to think it is where she aborted the fetus. I just felt so sorry for my friend, her husband and kids. They tried their best for her. Her husband took off work and was up all night with the pony. They are taking it really hard. They were told the pony wasn`t pregnant. The guy that got her off of blamed them and said they should have been out there when she had the foal. But he told them she wasn`t pregnant. It was not full term so they had no way of knowing she was having one. They may have had her a week and half before she had it. He should have been taking care of her. Making sure she had food and water. I am really upset with him not taking care of her. If I had know when I sold him the pony this is what would have happen. I would have not sold her to him. Course he bought her off me three or four years ago. Oh well, I have to go do some cleaning and some laundry. Just thought I would let everyone know about the pony.
I'm so sorry about both your birthday and your friends horse. Don't feel guilty. It's not your fault. Some people just don't care. They buy animals because they think it would be neat to have them, yet the newness wears off and they do not take care of the animals. Prayers for y'all!

That is the saddest thing....I feel so sorry for all of you and the owners.....and shame on those who do not care for animals properly...animals have no voice so we need to do our absolute best for them.
