Well it is Jan. 8 and I am now 37 today. Yeah, it is my birthday. How did I get this old. I remember when I was a kid thinking 37 was really old. Yesterday flew by. Where did it go? I can honestly say God has blessed me for 37 years. My life hasn`t always been easy but I wouldn`t have changed anything.
Yesterday, my friend called me about a pony she just bought right before Christmas from her cousin. Well her cousin had bought the pony from me about 4 years ago. Well he didn`t take good care of her. New Years Eve she lost her foal she was carrying. I guess I talked to my friend the next day or two. She asked me how the pony did after she had her foal when I had her. We didn`t have any trouble. She did fine when we had it. To make long story short. I went to my friends house yesterday evening to look at the pony. OMG! she is a sick little thing. Her dad had come down and gave her a shot. I took her some vitamins and Electrolytes. Come to find out, her cousin hadn`t been feeding and watering the pony while she was up. She said she knew in two weeks the pony had been watered and feed maybe twiced. She was put up in the barn and my friends lives right beside them. Her cousin not taking good care of it and wanting money was one of the reason my friend went bought the pony from him. She felt sorry for her.
Like I told my friend, where she hadn`t been eating and wasn`t drinking. Being pregnant it just took everything out of her. She is sick. The little thing couldn`t hardly stand up. I don`t know if she will pull out of it or not. There isn`t much a vet could except maybe put her on an IV. I had my friend get her turkey baster to help get the electrolytes down her. I told her the only thing I knew to do was every 12 hours give her a penacillin shot and every half hour try and get some electrolytes down her. Maybe she will pull though. I know when I was giving the electrolytes to her. Oh her breathe was awful. I have been raised around horses all my life and livestock and I have never smelled a horse`s breathe like hers. You could smell the fever and the infection. I will help her at as much as I can. I just don`t know what else to do. My friend loves animals and it is breaking her heart. She kept saying maybe if I had bought her sooner. No your cousin should have taken better care of her. I am sorry I won`t even get started on people who don`t feed and take care of their animals. You all might say a little prayer for this pony.
I will let you all know how she does. I am going to go and get to bed. Us old folks need to get to bed earlier now. lol
Happy Birthday - Time does go by fast! I'm now 53 - I'm to young to be 53 :)

I can't believe someone would treat an animal like this. If you can't take care of an animal, you should not own one!!! Poor pony!! I will be praying for her!
God's Blessings,
