Something I have been wanting is a dutch oven. My Christmas gift from my mom and stepdad was a dutch oven, tripod and lifters. Sam is going to build a fire pit. Course we are going to have to wait until it quits raining. I have been searching the web for dutch oven recipes. I have found some I can`t wait to try. The one mom got for me is a 20inch I think. It is huge and heavy but will come in handy when we are camping this summer. Everyone at the camp goes in together and cooks. It is so much fun.
My goal is to have all the different sizes of ovens. I would like to have the table and baskets. There are all kinds of things for dutch oven cooking and I hope will be able get what I need. I am really excited about getting started.
I also got an ice cream machine from them to. The kids love. We have already made ice cream twice.
I think next Christmas we are going to do things a little different. My mom and aunt shared some really nice Christmas memories with us. I remember one year my grandmother telling me about what they would get Christmas. For them if they got a peppermint stick of candy and some apples and oranges, they had a big Christmas. Mom told about the Christmas my aunt and her took theirs horses and went out in the woods to find a tree. For next year we all just want to have an old fashion Christmas. We are going to still buy gifts for the kids, just not the adults. Course that is my side family. With Sam`s family it will be different. Thats a long story.
I love old-fashioned Christmas. I think it is fun to go out into the woods or tree farm and find your own tree. I like to make Christmas gifts or buy second hand stuff to give as gifts.
I never like to do things the why that others want to do them now a days.
