• Thursday, September 20, 2007 - I want to thank everyone for your advice
Thank you all for your advice on the church issue. I was so afraid everyone would think I was judging. That wasn`t what I wanted to do. I really believe God lead me to HSB. I have read some wonderful blogs and have been feed spiritual here. More here than what I was getting in my church. I don`t believe I have ever heard anyone preach on modest dress. I know when I was little, we never wore pants to church. But thank you all. Please pray that we find a church we can be happy in. My husband is not saved and he was going to church with me until all this stuff happen. I didn`t even begin to tell you all what has when on. Not enough time. I know that leaving will be the right thing to do for me and my family. sheryl
Sounds like your little church is a mess.......don't feel bad, most of them are! :-(
I pray that this man can find a church home, that will help him. HOWEVER......history shows, "Once and offender, always an offender" and what better place to prey on young than at church, where everyone is "supposed to be loving and forgiving". Either your Pastor decided that *he* knew best for the congregation OR God spoke to the Pastor and told him what to do to protect the congregation.........either way, we, just don't know?
For us to say "Your Pastor was Wrong", is ignorant, judgmental, and foolish on our part.
As far as modest dress........
Jesus said "come as you are".
Once you meet Him, you will want to change because He will transform us.
From the inside out. Not the other way around.
I agree, women should dress like women, not harlots or men.
But it is NOT our responsibility to make sure we wear burka's so that men "don't sin".
That is bondage.
Jesus sets us free!!!
As far as your dh? 1 Peter 3:1-7
That's all you need to know!!
Have a beautiful day!!

Thank you for the comment that you left on my page!
I am sorry however to read of your troubles. I attend an Independent Baptist Church where the preacher preaches the KJV Bible. I mean he REALLY preaches the bible! He tries not to offend people, but at the same time if something needs to be said, he will say it.(about modesty, etc.) I can honestly say that he is not concerned with money or how many people there are in the church.(we are small, about 35-40 members ) I thank God that He lead me to this church.
I hate to disagree with the last commenter, but it IS our responsibility to be modest in our dress. Dressing in a way that provokes sexual thoughts in men is a sin all unto itself. You could be dressed in something from head to toe, and still be immodest in the way that it looks or fits. Titus 2:5 I dress modestly in dresses, but I do not wear a burka! LOL! Just pray and follow the will of God.
I am glad that you have decided to find another church, because the most important thing is your hubby's salvation. The Lord will guide you in the way that you should go. I hope that you will be happier with your new church! God bless you!
I am a stay-at-home, Christian homeschooling mom. My husband and I have been married for 19 years. We have been blessed with three kids, ages 18, 10 and 8. We live on a family farm and have several animals. I`m just a simple farm gal, who loves her God, family, friends and life.
