Our weekend started out by taking the kids on a field trip with the hs group. The field trip was to an old homesteading village. The kids got to see a wolfpen and they also meet Daniel Boone. They were able to visit a log cabin built before George Washington was president. It was a local cabin that was saved, instead of being torn down. The also learned about indians and the type of weapons they used. About how Englishman trade with them. There was so much there we were unable to see everything. Later that night we went camping and just sit around the campfire and relaxed.
Saturday, dh helped with the campstore and I came back home and did some stuff around the house. I took care of Little Brother, that is the name of our little calf we bottle feed. I cooked dinner for my grandfather and took food to the campground. Everybody always cooks and then we all eat together. After dinner, our friends were going to the hayride. Dh and I decided we would go to. Little bit of history on this hayride. This hayride and cookout is and has been a community hayride for over 3 decades. Each year it has grown and this year was its last year. It is my neighbors who has this hayride for everyone. But due to their age and their oldest son having a stroke last year, they decided this year would be the last. Now each year they average having about 400 plus people at their home for this. The hayride last for an hour and there was 10 tractors pulling wagons with hay. Each wagon was pack. As the wagons were loading and getting ready to take off, one of the local newschannels showed up. Guess who just happen to be on the wagon that the guy from the newschannel filmed. Yelp dh, me and the kids along with our good friends. He really got a good shot of dd2 and my friend. It was funny seeing us on tv. I Did record it so my mom could see her. I really hated seeing this come to an end. Well that was my weekend. sheryl
