• Saturday, August 25, 2007 - fall is just around the corner
That means Fall cleaning. It is sad but I am still trying to finish some of my spring cleaning. lol I have been pleased tho because I have gotten several things done in the house that I wanted to. That will make my fall cleaning a little easier. It is just all the outside work I dread. Cleaning up the flower beds and preparing them for next and cleaning up the garden. Preparing the barn and the chicken coop for winter. We really need to make our chicken lot bigger. We just have several outside chores that need to be done. We will start on them after Labor Day. We have two more camping trips we want to get in before it gets to cold. One of them is camping Labor Day weekend. That weekend is going to be a hard one. Sept. 4 will one year since my grandmother past away. I miss her so much. She taught how to be a homemaker. She made sure I knew how to take of my home and family. But most of all she taught me about God and his love. Thank you mamaw for that.
I also forgot to mention about our new calves. Three of our cow had their calves. We now have two heifer calves and a bull calf. Back in March, dh took our cows to his dads to be breed to his dads bull. Well about 2mos ago I went with dh and his dad in the pasture to look at the cows. Dh`s dad said it would be Jan. or Feb before they would have theirs calves. I thought to myself, those cows are already huge. They will burst before then. Well come to find out, our steer wasn`t a steer. He is a bull. Dh said they must have banned him to soon and missed one. I guess it is better to wait on them to come down and cut them instead.
Well it is suppose to be 102 here today. I will have to make sure all of our animals have plenty of water to drink. So I have better go and get busy. Sheryl
We have had a few Autumn like days here, it got into the upper 50's degrees for the daily high, it was a welcome cahnge from the bawlmy 90's.
I can't wait, its my favorite season.

Oh no, fall cleaning. Well, I guess I'd better make a list. It's still so hot down here so I probably won't start until October!
My grandmother's taught me that it is okay to be a homemaker, not really the ropes. In our society we are supposed to be working women, such as my Mom and sister, but they showed me that raising children and taking care of your home are jobs to be proud of.
Have a great week!
Blessings,
