• Tuesday, December 23, 2008 - update on our family
I know haven`t been around much lately. Things have just been crazy around here. Christmas is here before I knew it. I guess, my papaw will be spending Christmas in the hospital. He fell last Thursday and hurt his back. He is not doing good at all. I think, he is just tired and is wanting to go to his heavenly home. The last fall has really took a toll on him. He has compressed fractures to his spine. He can`t hardly move his right leg. His oxygen level keeps dropping. My aunt even mentioned today that they may have to put him in a nursing home. None of the kids want to do that but they may not have a choice. He may need 24 hour medical care. I just know that he is in the Lords hands and he will take care of him. It is just hard to see a man, who was once so strong be so weak.
I guess I haven`t been doing too much homesteading stuff. Just cleaning and going though closets again. The kids are growing so fast. They are just out growing their clothes. I have to say me to. I am not growing up, just out. One of my birthday gifts from my mom was the Homestead Blessing DVD collections. I really enjoyed the bread making and the soap making dvds. But I can`t say the candle making one was all that great. I was just happy to get the set. I love to watch the West Ladies. Now maybe they will come out with one on gardening and sewing.
Well Hannah came in here and told it was time for her drops and I gave them to her and lost my train of thought. We let the kids open their gifts from us tonight. I think they are enjoying their gifts. They have been so quite. They are playing with them.
We are not going to do anything big for Christmas. I am cooking a small meal and just resting.
I am fixing:
Ham
mashed potatoes and gravy
green beans
corn
homemade biscuits
red velvet cake
Since the kids are back in school, I have decided to go back to work as a sub.. I preparing to take my paraeducators test. If I pass I can sub as a teachers aide. I don`t want to go back to work full-time right now. Unless I can get a job as an aide. That way I will be off when the kids are off. I don`t want a job that will take me away from them.
Well guess that is it for now. I want to wish everyone a Very Merry CHRISTmas. Remember the real reason for CHRISTmas.
I am a stay-at-home, Christian homeschooling mom. My husband and I have been married for 19 years. We have been blessed with three kids, ages 18, 10 and 8. We live on a family farm and have several animals. I`m just a simple farm gal, who loves her God, family, friends and life.
