Looking for the right cow

{ 08:27, Friday, December 14, 2007 } { Posted in Cows! } { 3 comments } { Link }
Good morning!  I am looking for real life information to help me pick out the right type of dairy cow.  We are looking at getting 2 H and a bull.  I have read alot and am now considering the Jersey.  I would be interested in the Dexter but they are to hard to find and really expensive....any suggestions.  I'm open to any options at this point.  We are still putting up fence and building new barns.  I have experience with dairy goats and my husband has experience with beef cattle (worked on a ranch for a few years).  There will be 12 family members using the milk and I make cheese.  Any ideas? Any helpful tips?  Thank you and have a blessed day!
