More on wheat

I just wanted to add a quick entry -  Sister Lori is absolutely correct (in her commment) about the goverment subsidies on crops control--I just do not have enough knowledge in that area to comment on its effects to crop production.  I know they are there--I know it is a problem--but the end result that I am concerned with is how this "shortage" is going to affect our future.  I agree we should consider growing what we need and defend our rights to grow and raise for our families.  I feel very stongly about this point.  I just think that there is so much going on in the world that if we aren't aware of it, we will be caught unprepared for the challenges we must face.  Thank you SisterLori for sharing this truth with us.  Blessings>faithfarm

Blessings!
I absolutely agree. We DO need to be aware. It's right up there with hybrid seeds! Those seeds that most folks purchase to plant in their gardens think they can save the seeds from those plants to continue the crop but in fact they can't be germinated! These are altered so much that the only place to get them is from the manufacturer. This is how they keep themselves in business and the fact that these are gentically altered means that a lot of the natural nutrients and such aren't present in them.
We purchase the heirloom seeds because those havn't been tampered with. But I digress.
It's quite true that we need to be very aware and understand how we can potentially create a serious famine and even make some plants extinct with all the tampering and controlling of these foods.
I thank you so much for sharing this information. It's something that we will add to our archives to keep track of. My husband likes to keep abreast of this stuff.
God be with thee!

wheat

Thanks for keeping us posted of this great problem. I am blessed to have a farm 2 miles away from me that grows wheat. Every year I buy 300 pounds. I used to us about 200 each year. But now with only 4 of us at home, I use a little less that 100. If stored properly wheat will keep indefinately, so I feel prepared with the extra that I have stored and I do rotate it. Keep up the good word, blessing jodalton
