Good Morning friends.  I must warn you I am a bit upset about the topic I am writing about today.  I debated if I should even write it, then I decided that as homesteaders or homesteaders at heart that this topic does affect us and should be written.  I try really hard to not let  "worldly" things upset me because I understand some things must come to pass, but this one just gets me.  I am talking about freedom or atleast our freedoms being taken from us..for our own safety.  Now I am not going to even try to be politically correct on this subject....this is how I feel and everyone has a right to agree or dis-agree...thats the beauty of freedom.  I read an article on CNN this morning  http://edition.cnn.com/2008/TECH/02/04/fbi.biometrics/index.html  dicussing the latest brilliant idea to collect a data base of palm prints, eye scans, and people physical characteristics.  Kimberly Del Greco, the FBI's Biometric Services section chief, said adding to the database is "important to protect the borders to keep the terrorists out, protect our citizens, our neighbors, our children so they can have good jobs, and have a safe country to live in."  First of all-How is this going to help my children have good jobs?  I'm all for protecting our country, but at what cost to our personal freedoms?  This is just the latest in many events that are moving this country into a very scary direction.  At what point do we say enough?  From neighborhood codes that dictate your ability to hang out laundry and what you can and can't do to your own home to NAIS bar coding our farm animals to government being able to read all private emails and training repairmen and EMS workers be terrorism lookouts because they don't have to have a warrent to be on your property (requireing them to report anything suspisious). http://www.emsnetwork.org/artman2/publish/article_28905.shtml http://www.emsresponder.com/web/online/Top-EMS-News/Rescuers-Tapped-to-Help-in-War-on-Terror/1$6603   To micro chips becoming an acceptable way of life http://www.verichipcorp.com/

I understand that there is an argument on the positive side for all these things above..it all sounds nice and can be reasoned for the good of the people...who doesn't want to be safe?  Who doesn't want to protect our children? It all sounds logical...but when are we going to realize that the very thing that makes us Americans is at risk, and from what....our own fears...sometimes I think the path of good intentions  really is leading us straight to ........  if you think these things aren't really happening and happening fast I ask you to do a little research.....I don't know how to fix any of this-I don't know that we can-I don't know that it isn't all part of the greater plan, but I do know that if we are not aware of things happening it will be all too easy to be mislead.....I don't want to be deceived.... I am sorry if this was offensive to any of you dear people, this wonderful group of people gives me so much hope and reassures my faith in the good will of mankind.

I have found peace in 2 Timothy chapter 3 this morning. 

2 Timothy 3

 1This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

 2For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

 16All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

 17That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

Funny.
I posted 2 Timothy 3 on two separate blogs this morning.

Grab a copy of the Communist Manifesto. Read it. Then read what Hussain Obama, and Rohdem Clinton are promoting. IT THE SAME THING. Socialism. Communism. Marxism. Read it yourself. Then decide!!

The mark of the beast. Read Revelation. I have no faith in mankind. Man is but a puppet for satan to use to wreck this world. Satan has been using man since the beginning of time.....and will do so until the end. My faith, and trust is in Christ alone...........

Being prepared for the worst is our best defense.
After this November, we will realize what the "worst" is..........

Beautiful post, and yes this effects us all.I agree Lord please bless us and come quickly we are waiting for you. The fear of the Lord should be at hand, even for us Christians that have not lead a godly life! Makes me shudder at the thought that judgement is soon for all.....

I totally agree with your post-- It is scary where our country is headed-- what bothers me is when talking to people/ family members they are not opening their eyes to it all-- just letting things happen.
