1 Kings 19:11-13

 11And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake:

I love that passage from the expierences of Elijah....it's so easy to miss the still small voice.....

I have just read your post and it sounds like we are sisters at heart.. I am in my autum season of life, but I still keep up with my food storage because it has been a way of life to use and replace my storage. We can be like the young man in your story, we can sleep when the wind blows because we have prepared. We prepare not only for our ownselves but those who will come to us.
