Good morning all-I hope you are having a blessed morning.  Yesterday I took my oldest son (18) to the Allergy specialist's office because he had a sever allergic reation to ? last monday night.  It was a long day with some complications.  He is severly allergic to unknown--I think its mistletoe, myself.  They can't test for that though...and its too strong of a reaction for them to expose him.  So they are doing what they can.  I learned alot yesterday, for one, I learned that no matter how much training or experience you have with some things it is totally different when its one of your own.....my son passed out during one of the tests and shook--I did everything the nurse said and we got threw it fine-but emotionally it was overload.  I knew he was going to be ok-but inside it scared me.  It was so hard to take.  I know God has his hands on this.  I just pray my son fully understands that.  Being a parent to grown children (well you know what I mean-not your lil baby anymore) is sooo hard for me.  I know our children have to grow up.  Its just so hard to watch them walk through some of these things.  I'm praying.            I also learned that benadryl is a wonderful drug--I always knew this but I know it even more now!  I also learned that Zantac (the stomach med.  is a H2 blocker---benadryl is a H1 blocker---so in cases of some allergic reactions you need both.  I thought I would share this since it is an over-the-counter drug that might help someone in an emergency.

Today I am going to try and stay in the house.  It is cold outside and when I get the animals tended and school started I plan on boiling down some chicken leg quarters.  Making broth and having precooked chicken for other dishes.  I also have a beef chub.  I plan on making muffin meatloafs and boiling down some for broth and stews.  If all goes well I might make a couple of peach cobbler's for the freezer.  I have found that a day of cooking can bring alot of peace to my heart.  I have been reading in Hebrews this week and I plan on doing some more studying today.  I am praying for a peaceful-quiet day.  I hope you all have a blessed and peaceful day.

I know what you mean about your child. Mine is 17 and no matter what, I will always look at her as my "baby"

It is hard to watch them go through things. I am also having to realize that I need to pray more for her as she goes through the things we must always go through. I also have to pray that The Lord will give me the strength to "let go."

I pray that all is better today for you and your son!
