As I usually only shop once a month I thought I would post weeks #1 through #4 for those of you that shop bi-monthly or monthly.  I will continue to post individual weekly shopping lists for those weeks as well.  As the cost of food changes greatly from one month to the next I can only accurately post one month at a time. Thank you for all the messages and comments I recieved on this topic this morning--Your input is valued greatly.  Remember this is pretty basic-starting with no food storage plan in place.  It can be taylored to suit each families needs and likes.  The goal is to only spend $10.00 a week so everyone is able to afford it.

Did you use coupons to get these costs? Where do you shop?
Can you list recipes/menus?
I struggle with saving money in the grocery store because everything we buy is organic from Whole Foods. Any ideas/cookbooks for frugality?
Blessings,
~Farrah

I shop mainly at discount grocery stores-I also live in Oklahoma so the cost of these items will vary State to State. The prices I listed on this entry came from a shopping trip today at Sav-a-Lot and Walmart grocery. I do use coupons for items I use but none of these items were listed today. Here at Faith Farm we grow most of our fruits/veg. We have chickens-goats-rabbits to provide for most of our needs. This entry is mainly for those who are just starting out on the food storage adventure. I purchased these items today for our food storage pantry to be sure the cost was accurate. My hope is that this easy plan allows everyone interested, to build a food storage in the event of an emergency or time of financial hardship. Its a very basic plan. I appreciate your desire for organic products...thats why we grow our own. Unfortunately in todays society the organic label usually comes with a higher cost. I used to purchase items at our local farmers market-they usually had very reasonable prices and I was able to store in season products for year round use. I cannot recommend a cookbook, as I rarely use any other than my old Betty Crocker Cookbook. I learned to cook the ol' southern way-by watching and adding a little of this and that. Not much help there. I will try to post some of my favorite recipes. Sorry I couldn't be of much help. <Blessings> Faith Farm
