Value of a good dog

Having a good dog on the farm is priceless. I have 2 dogs...one I started the homestead with and one that adopted us when we came here. The first dog (Mozart or Mo) is not a farm dog, he is more of a guard your house kind of dog. The dog (Faydog) that adopted us is a great farm dog. She goes everywhere I go and helps me round up goats and guards the animals with great honor. Talk about a good dog...best dog I ever had..and she found me. She must be a gift from God-I needed her more than I knew. I've not lost one animal to "varmits". No one knows where she came from-she just showed up one day....I think she is a cow dog-Angel Blue eyes and marked up like some of the other farmers dogs. I can confidently let my daughter go play in the back acres without concern when Faydog is with her. She will protect us from any stray dog or critter. It's amazing what a good dog can do. She naps in the day when I'm in the house and guards all night-on more than one occasion she has saved our livelyhood. When you have a homestead a good farm dog is probably the best investment you can make. Farm dogs are loyal, brave, eager to please, and a great joy to the family. Maybe you'll be as blessed as I was and one will find you! I wouldn't trade this dog for any amount of money-so if you have to buy one-they are worth every dollar you spend. Many Blessings to you!
