2008 plans

Today was a great day to talk and plan about our direction for 2008.  The weather has been very cold and it made staying in all the better.  We decided a couple of months ago that we would stop all projects for the months of Dec. and Jan. and spend some quality family time.  We have been so very busy building our new life, the last two years have just flown by.  We tend the animals and the have to's but we are not starting anything new.  It has been lovely.  Today we had some quite time to re-look at the direction we are going and to make necessary adjustments to our plan in order to make the most out of our finances and time.   It was great.  It took most all day but I am satisfied with the results.  Too often we get busy and don't put first thing first.  We always pray to stay in God's Will first.  We are still moving towards the solar setup for lights and possibly a DC freezer late 2008.  We decided on a hand pump for the well...big decision as it is a deep well.  Decided on some water tanks and the fencing around the property.  We will be adding dairy cows in the spring and some pigs to the farm.  I want 3 turkeys but I don't know if they are going to get squeezed in this year or not.  We designed the back porch for our outdoor kitchen and wash room...it will be small at first but we can add on.  I got a call from the wood stove people today...I want to get one in Feb./March but it may get postponed due to the large number of projects for spring....we'll see about that.  First is lights and water-we are still on rural water/electric.  I hope to be off both by the end of 2009.  I'll make due with the current Goat barn and get the Cows/pigs set up.  We are going to plant more Fruit trees and Blueberries in the spring.  I'm looking at doing the Garden different this year.  I hope to make it more managable...less weed pulling....that was hard.  I hope my youngest sister starts building her house this year...she will be on the back of the property, I miss her alot and it will be so good to have her home again.  Well anyway-it was a wonderful day and I am glad to be here.  Blessing to you!
