Two days after Merry Thanksgiving

Good evening to you all who are still up on the eve before Sabbath.  As most of you have been shopping for two days now, I decided to shop at the local Salvation Army.  I have a love for collecting unique items and at the most inexpensive prices.  I also have a love for decorating and just can't seem to deal with store prices.   So off to the Army I go.  To you who love to decorate,  my favorite styles are chabby chique, and folk art.  These two styles are a bit odd together, but I decided that the Lord has given me these tastes; I might as well enjoy them and have rooms in the house that are a bit different.  Months ago, I went to a furniture store in Kittery, Maine. There was a huge white hutch that I loved,  (you know, that beach kind of chipped paint look). The price was not bad but still much too much for my family to pay for a piece of furniture.  So, what do you think I began to do?  Hutch hunting.  I found a top of a hutch that was already painted white so I am 1/2 set now and will continue to look for a bottom half that I like.  In the meantime, I am on a freecycle site and someone offered a tv entertainment center.  They told me it was small.  Ugh oh, small!  It would not fit into our van.  Well, we had to rent a small uhaul to pick it up today.  My loving husband had patience with me!

Good afternoon!
I began to start my blog with some photos I took with my Sony camera. These are just a few shots of flowers from my garden. My son Josiah has been wonderful to spend this afternoon having fun and loading up some of the Lord's creations. HE has blessed us with HIS creation.

welcome to you

I'm glad you're here at Homestead Blogger, Crystal. It is a wonderful place to make friends. I like to shop at the Goodwill and have found very nice clothing there - much nicer than I could afford to buy new. We decorate our house in an eclectic combination of Northwoods and the Southwest. I guess that's what happens when New Mexico girl marries Montana guy. Blessings from the Big Sky Country............Denise (prairiemom)
