It's Been Quiet Around Here!I was away from my blogging for awhile. Now I am focusing more on my homeschool blog. You are welcome to read it!11:28 - Sunday, September 23, 2007 - comments {0} - post commentNew PetsEarlier in the week a 13 yo girl from my church who loves my kids (always comes over to say hi to Lydia and hold her if she'll allow it) called to say her dad was making her give away her hamsters, all except one. She had dwarf hamsters that had babies last summer and her dad was understandably getting tired of all the rodents. Between her and her brother they had a good dozen or more. Yikes! So we took 2. One for each of the older kids to have as their own pets. But I have to say that so far I'm enjoying the experience as well. They are cute little things and it is hilarious to watch them running around the house in their ball. Here's Angelflowers: ![]() Isn't she cute? She is Mariam's and her cage is parked in the girls room. The girl we got her from had her named Angel. Mariam has been calling her Flowers so I'm combining the two because Lydia is also calling her Angel. Now she can go by either. ![]() I'm trying to upload a picture of the other one, Damien. But I'm not having success. It says I do not have enough space even though I've just gone through and deleted some old posts with pictures in them. hmm.... I guess I'll try again later. 11:10 - Saturday, March 17, 2007 - comments {1} - post commentFriends are FamilyI'm feeling so blessed by all the people the Lord has surrounded us with. We've been living away from our extended family for over 4 years now. It took a while to get to this point where I have friends that I can count on like they were my family. It really took me stepping out of my shell and getting more involved in our church and homeschool group so that we could meet people with similar values.Tomorrow the kids and I are driving 45 minutes to visit my good friend and her kids . We are having our 2nd annual 100 party. We did one together last year where the kids made necklaces with 100 beads, a big bar cookie with 100 chocolate chips, and some other activities I'm not remembering right now. I'm not sure what we'll be doing tomorrow but it will revolve around the number 100. ![]() Then tomorrow night another friend will be watching the kids while I'm at choir/praise team practice (which tends to run late) so that Anthony can get to bed early. The older two are going to be sleeping over and she'll be bringing them home early the next morning when she brings her 2 boys over for me to babysit like I normally do on Fridays. All this is probably normal for most people, but it is still wonderful and new and exciting for me. I'm praising God that he has answered my prayers for friends that I can be close to and count on for just about anything. I just wanted to share.... 04:49 - Wednesday, February 21, 2007 - comments {0} - post commentBirthday Cake![]() I made this cake and decorated it myself. It is a strawberry box mix. It tasted great! Today we were going to go ice skating with friends for Mariam's birthday but the rink was having hockey tournaments. We ended up going bowling instead. The kids and my husband were the bowlers and my friend and I visited. We were supposed to have small group bible study tonight but it was canceled due to our facilitator being sick. I was going to bring the cake over there to share with everyone but instead Mariam got her wish of just staying home to eat it. I guess all things work out for the best in some way. 06:35 - Monday, February 19, 2007 - comments {2} - post comment4 years.....Our daughter Mariam is having a birthday tomorrow. She was born 4 years ago at 12:32 a.m. on the 19th of February. We were so anxious for her to be born that even though she was not late we were doing all we could to coax her to come out. We had lost 2 pregancies before we had her and I know that longing for a second child ran deep because of it. She was so beautiful, and she still is. My lovely little girl. I want her to grow up knowing she is cherished by not only her earthly parents but her Heavenly Father as well.Happy Birthday, Mariam Deborah!! ![]() 09:32 - Sunday, February 18, 2007 - comments {2} - post comment
