Unexpected Blessings...
You know it is always good to give and expect nothing in return and I have always been a giver even when I had nothing I would give and I gave because I like to give and see peoples reactions.. Well recently somethings happened and life got a little more complicated and to be honest I was just not sure how things were going to come together, however I knew they would and I just kept praying. I am telling you that God is so good and awesome..
First we needed a house and we found a house in the country with lots of room and a decent rent in the school district that we wanted to be in.. I tell you I had advertised and advertised. I was listening to our local trading post when I heard a guy talking about a house.. I grabbed the phone and called.. It is just a few miles from the farm I grew up on.. I feel like we are home in a round about way..:) It is a big house and the kids all get their own rooms..
Second we needed a couch or something and we were given a matching couch and love-seat that reclines on each end.
We needed a couple of dressers and a bed and we were given that, plus my sisters who both live close just went and bought some stuff as did my mom. We feel like the house is coming along well..
The kids grandma along with some people from our Church family bought the kids school supplies.
We were given a gas card to help with gas and just so many more things... You know I have not ever been one to ask for help and probably would have just struggled to make it all work out, but God blessed my children and I way beyond what we could ever have dreamed of.. I am still in awe over it all.. God Is so Good... Thank You God for all the blessings You have given us already and those to come.. Let us not grow to tired , weary or busy to praise You..
My 8 year old said to me after the gas card and etc that he thought this was the best thing that had ever happened to us moving when and where we did.. You know out of the mouth of a child comes the truth...
Thank you for your prayers of support..
God Bless,
Mars

College Days
College Days are finally here.. I am at a time in my life where I feel it is time to go back to school and get a degree.. I am signed up, registered and going to take a test to see which class will be my last class this semester.. I am excited about this new step/ chapter in life.. I have wanted to do this for awhile, but it just was not possible at the time, but the door is open and I am going through it... Please keep me in your prayers as I start this adventure.. I know it will be just fine, but nevertheless I am a bit nervous as I am not one who really really like change..LOL
My kids think it is great except my 8 year old who thinks it is weird that mom would go back to school.. In fact I believe his exact words were.." Mom that is kinda creepy". LOL However he is ok with it... The other kids think it is cool that mom will have homework with them...
Not totally for sure what degree I am going for, but I will keep you posted on the progress through out...
God Bless,
Mars |

My Oldest Son.............
Jordin McKenzie is 15 today.. Wow where has the time gone?? He is a freshman this year and is playing high school boys softball, basketball and I think he is going to run track as well.. Oh and let's not forget he will also be in FFA.... He is such a good boy with a great work ethic in fact sometimes I think too good of one.. LOL He still gives his mom a hug and tells her he loves her.. I have always told my kids they will never get to old or big to hug mom and say I love you...
Today he turns 15 and starts his first day of high school...
He took a day and a half to get here, but was a good baby.. He moved 650 miles the day after he was born and he took it all in stride.. I am so proud of him and love him so much..
Happy 15th Birthday Son.. Good Luck on Your Permit Test.. I Love You!!
God Bless,
Mars.. aka mom

First Day of School.............
Hi there.. How is everyone this wonderful morning?? Wow it is so nice in the mornings.. I love fall-like weather and that is what it feels like.. Jeans and a tee-shirt.. WOOHOO...
So today is the first day of school for my kids and I wanted to share a few pictures of them....

Here is Jordin who is 15 and a freshman this year...
Here is Jillian who is 13 and in the 8th grade this year..
Here is Joslyn who is 10 and in the 5th grade this year...
Here is Jacob who is 8 and in the 3rd grade..
Here is my baby boy Jeremiah who is 6 and in the first grade...
Here is Jordin and Jacob messing around before they got on the bus...
They are all excited about their new school and starting a new chapter... I am sure they will do fine.. They already know most of the kids in each of their classrooms from summer ball. There is a big change for them in the new school and that is that they will be in class with only their grade in the old school preschool and kindergarten were together, 1st&2nd were together, 3rd &4th were together, 5th&6th were together as was 7th and 8th.. I am excited for this year and pray that it is a good year..
Well gotta go for now..
God Bless,
Mars
ps sorry the pictures are not great I have not unpacked my camera yet so we used the cell phone camera... LOL |

Happy Harvest
Can you feel it? I step outside and yes, I can feel it. The thermometer says 85, but the feel of the wind says harvest. It stirs in me and I love it.
I canned wild blueberry jam yesterday, and some beet pickles. I sliced up a bunch of garlic and onions and have that in the dehydrator along with savory, marjarom and lovage. Today I hope to dehydrate peas and beans, weed the tomatoes, mow the lawn, dust, laundry, sew a skirt and welcome my honey home. He's been over the road again. I love this weather. I have energy.
With all of the dehydrated vegies, I'm making a soup mix. A bit of carrots, corn, peas, beans, garlic, onions, lovage, herbs. Then when I want soup, just put some in a pot with some water and meat-viola! soup.
Our two older daughters have been berry crazy this year. They go out almost every day and pick. With their help we have put up almost fifty pints of berries. Our two youngers are out doing chores right now. They get up, eat, get dressed, and out the door they go. So nice to have all of the chores done when I get outside. 'Nuff bragging on my kids.
So how's your harvest coming? What do you put up for winter?

Unpacking................
Hello.. How is everyone?? We are all doing well.. I must admit I am running on low as I have been so busy packing, unpacking, throwing out, donating and getting our new house in order.. LOL All the kids have their own rooms so I am trying to get them all in order along with the rest of the house.. The kids are enjoying all the space.. I love the peace out there..
I got the kids enrolled in their new school on Friday and they are excited for Wednesday to get here so they can start.. I met some of their teachers on Friday and I think it will be a good year.. Jordin and Jill have both attended the school years ago. The principal was so excited to see us and took the kids on a tour while I was filling out the paperwork.. They got so excited it was all they talked about.. Of course just about any school district would love to get 5 new students. Especially when they are a small school.. I am kinda sad about leaving the old school simply because I was friends with most of the teachers there, but I am glad to be in the district we are now in.....
Well I better get going.. I still have a million things to do.. I need to make sure everything is on at the college for me to start next week, make some calls and get internet at the new house.. :)
Keep us in your prayers,
God Bless,
Mars |

Fall Like Morning.....
Wow this morning I walked outside and it is so nice and cool out.. I am so blessed by this.. I took Jordin and dropped him off with my sister so she could run him to ball practice this morning so I could go to the dr. I have a kidney infection... YUCKO I knew I was getting one and so I started taking the precautions to make it better, but anyway I have some meds now and will be ok...
We worked hard on moving yesterday and will be working hard again this afternoon if the rain holds off... I got my room put together, Jordin worked on his room, we got the kitchen wiped down and ready to put stuff away in there and the bathroom was worked on as well. Oh yes and we got more vaccuming done... I cannot believe how much room we have.. I need to post some pictures. Maybe I will get to that this weekend if not maybe Monday...
Tomorrow is a busy day.. I have to enroll the kids, run by the college and make sure my stuff is all in order there, finish moving stuff, then work on the house and there are a couple other things on my list, but I don't have it right here in front of me at this time..
I am so thankful for the coolness of the day and that the rain seems to have went around us for the time being so that my dad could get his hay finished up before school starts.. It will be a nice day to work in the new house and get things put together there.. God truly has blessed the kids and I with this house.. When I was at the dr this morning her nurse's parents are who I rent from now and she and I talked and I just know that God's hand is in it... Thank You God..
Have a great day
God Bless,
Mars |

CFC!!
Posted By
Kember
Wow, I can't believe it's been over a month since I last wrote! Man, I need to catch up. :-)
Hmm. Let's see. Short synopsis (that word will get stuck in your head if you're not careful :) of this summer. We worked at camp for four weeks. This past week my sister and I went to a Communicators for Christ conference. It's a four day conference, two days of debate, two days of speech. You may remember me mentioning the last conference this past November. It was a blast! One of CFC's main goals is to get kids comfortable with speaking in front of others to be able to better share the gospel. So, along with all the different workshops and classes are activities that encourage you (and make you) to come out of your comfort zone. It's so much fun! In addition to learning a lot about public speaking, you get to meet a lot of great people.
