Oh What a Headache I have
|
I need to go to therapy. I am addicted to pop! I can drink Pepsi all day long. That is not a joke. I do not like water, I have tried all the tricks, water with lemon, lime....I've done it all. We lately I have been convicted to change our families way of eating. I knew for it to be a success "I" had to change my ways of what I drink. Yesterday, I decided to start weening myself off pop. Wednesday I only had one. I didn't feel to bad yesterday. Today is a different story. I have a headache and feel achey all over. I finally resorted to a pop, at lunch. It is sad to say but, I would drink pop all day. There were months I do not think I ever had water or milk. For the most part our family eats fairly healthy. Though, when there was junk food in our home, especially our ds3 that is all he wanted to eat. So I have been reading this really good book. I started to clean out the cupboards. Now there are no chips. I make our cookies, muffins. Our snacks are fresh fruits and veggies. It has amazed me how the kids have been open minded to the change. I think dh has had the hardest time. I did tell him if he needed the junk food to eat it while he was at work. This has been a lot of fun ( well, not getting off the pop). The fun has been digging into the cookbooks and cooking from scratch.

We too have been doing this. My vice was Diet Pepsi. I had a headache for about 4 days but now I feel great. I wont ever start back!

The headache is from caffeine withdrawal and probably sugar withdrawal too. If you can get past the first few days you should be fine. Research how awful soda is for you and maybe that will help. :)

My BFF is addicted to Dr Pepper in the same way. Your headache is most likely from the caffeine withdrawal. Try a diet pop with no caffeine.
I used to drink lots of pop, but have switched over to decaf tea. I put some sugar in but not much.
God's Blessings,

Hello Rachael! I just found your blog after seeing your post on Sher's Old Crow Farm blog. (I am in Kansas too!) Your headaches sound like mine. I too was addicted to Diet Pepsi & would ONLY drink it.... like you - no water, milk or anything else. Then I read an article about the negatives from diet soda. After about 4 weeks.... I know only have one glass a day (it is still a big glass!).... but the headaches have gone mostly by the way-side. Best wishes with your soda progress!!!
Smiles,
Betty

Thanks for stopping by my blog.
I too am loving this digging into cookbooks and finding recipes. I have the children involved also. They each get to choose a recipe they would like to try and make. Ds 12 has been wonderful making the main dish while ds 7 and dd 4 help with the dessert.
A few years back I also loved Pepsi. I never drank water. After years of praying water is all I consume now a days besides coffee in the morning. I actually despise soda now. The Lord will work it out for you, don't give up :)
Blessings,
Holly
