Hello 2008

Shared in Poems or Song Lyrics

This poem is a sequel to "Farewell 2007" below.

Hello 2008

Hello 2008

I know you’ll be a great

Year.

I don’t have a clue

About what you

will bring.

So about you

I can hardly sing.

But I’ll try my best

(So here comes the rest.)

We welcomed you in

standing within

our living room

in front of the TV.

We watched the ball drop and then started to hop

and shout and say “Happy New year!”

I can’t write about much else

‘cause between then and now,

I haven’t done much besides sleep.

Well, this morning when I awoke

I put the dog out

(We had brought her in the garage

‘cause she was scared of the fireworks.)

Ah, this is startin’ not to rhyme,

So I guess it is time

To say “goodbye 2008

And hello.”

Farewell 2007

Shared in Poems or Song Lyrics

This is my goodbye for '07. I'm looking forward to 2008! Sometimes during this poem you will see something in (parenthisis) like that. <------- I was just having some fun with that and making rhymes and making them sound like a chime (s). See? Like that. So, this poem is called.....

Farewell, 2007

Goodbye 2007

We part today as friends

I’ll like looking back

On your memories

Always, to the very end (s).

Oh, I know there’ve been times

This past year

 that weren’t so sweet

(But more like lemons and limes.)

Though the middle of April was clouded with fears

And though during the end July I shed many tears

But this year has been good,

Very, very good.

’07 you’ve held some strange weather,

and to our household we’ve added

two more feather (ed)

friends.

Your summer was filled with numerous fun,

And joyous hours spent frolicking beneath the sun.

As I’ve walked through your days,

Your weeks and your months

 I’ve learned

So much more about God

And that my feet must be shod

With the preparation of the Gospel

Always.

The date of every event

That happened within (t)

This past year

Will bear your title

Forevermore ’07.

My thoughts of you

Will always (this is true)

Be filled with much joy and bliss.

Well, this letter’s gettin’ long

(or is it a song?)

So farewell 2007, farewell.

Happy New Year!

Soundly Saved

Shared in Poems or Song Lyrics

Soundly Saved

I feel so unworthy

Of Your gift of grace,

An awful sinful person like me

Would be headed to a terrible place.

A place of darkness and wailing and fire.

But praise be to the One who set me free

And broke the chains of death on me,

My fine has been paid; His life has been given,

To all those who will trust in Him.

Eternal Life on me has poured,

He has become my Master and Lord.

Now I must tell, I can’t help it I must,

Everyone, “In Jesus, put your trust,

He is the Way, the Truth and the Life.

He is Good and Righteous and Just.”

So thank you Father for your Son,

And thank you that the race I now run,

Will one day be over, though I’m having so much fun,

Serving You and praising you,

Here’s my life Lord, I devote it to You.

"Living Sacrifice"

Shared in Poems or Song Lyrics

Oh Lord, live through

Me, Set me apart for

Your service.

I give you my life

As an offering to

Do with, whatever

You please.

If you want me to go overseas,

  I will,

If you want me to stay,

I’ll do that too.

If you want me to be

Your martyr, I will,

This life is yours, not mine.

I will do whatever you ask.

Speak, to whoever you say.

I will go wherever you send,

That’s my oath this very day.

So Lord, please use me,

I wanna be your vessel

To carry your Word to

The nations.

"You're Everything in Me"

Shared in Poems or Song Lyrics

Oh Father,

You’re my Strength

When I’m weak,

And you’re with me

When I speak.

You’re my Light

When life seems dark,

Your Word is like

A continual spark

That illuminates The Way

Every single day.

You’re my Comfort

When tears of despair flow.

You’re my refuge

When cold winds blow.

You’re everything in me

And I am just dust

And so, in you, I’ll put

My trust.

You’re always with me

You never leave.

And I will strive

My goal to achieve:

To complete the work

You’ve given my here

Thank you Lord, for

Always being near.

"Who will tell them?"

Shared in Poems or Song Lyrics

The first 2 lines and this one keep wanting to be in bold. I don't know how to fix it, but I guess it's o.k.

 "Who will tell them?"

      Often as I look around

At the trees, the sky, the ground

I get a feeling of awe

As I gaze at the steepest mountain

Or study a kitten’s paw

If our Creator took the time

To detail a leaf, to texture a lime

How much more must He care

For me and you and the thousands

Of others out there

Who’ve never heard

That their Maker loves them.

Who will tell them?

In Asia’s mountains

In Africa’s bush

In South America’s jungles

On the South Pole’s ice

I find it quite absurd

That there are those

Who’ve never heard.

If everyone fulfilled the

Great Commission

And went at it with their

Greatest ambition

          I wonder,

Would we have the 10-40 window*?

If everyone reached out to their neighbor

Whoever that may be

Whether it’s the next door down

Or across the billowing sea.

If every Christian imitated Christ

Who walked on water,

Who paid the price

So that sinners like me and you

Could ask for forgiveness

And receive it too,

Would there be so many lost?

Who will tell them?

He’s calling you.

*The 10-40 Window refers to the longitude and latitude of a large area covering parts of North Africa and Asia. Almost all of these people haven’t heard the Good News. My question again, ”Who will tell them?”

A poem that I wrote

Shared in Poems or Song Lyrics

In you O Lord I put my trust,

Let me never be ashamed,

For your Name is worth my life,

My time and energy.

And I will go to the nations

And proclaim your Name

Before them,

I will tell them of Your death,

On the wooden tree,

And how You came and lived

And died to set the nations free.

So pour Your Spirit out on me,

And send me where You please,

Make me like the lightning,

That says, “Here I am!”

Send me out to people

Who need to hear Your plan.

And I will go to the nations,

And proclaim Your Name

Before them,

I will tell them of our sin,

Your mercy and Your grace.

And how all those who trust in

You will one day see your face.

And now O Lord, raise up ones

Who want to tell those who've never heard,

So all the world may see,

That You are the God of Heaven and earth,

And let it begin with me.

Hi! Welcome to my blog! Brief description... hmm.. well, I'm going to try to use this blog as a tool, to encourage others and inspire them to seek God for themselves, draw closer to Him and get on fire to tell the ones who need to hear! And also just some random thoughts. So, look around, and feel free to leave a question or comment! Mark 16:15 "And He said to them, "Go into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."
