Go For It!

Something else I learned while camping happened on the same day as the incident in my previous post. Our camping neighbors had loud music playing a good bit of the time. Though I tried hard to tune it out, the words to a particularly annoying rock song wormed their way into my ears. God used these words to teach me yet another lesson. This is what they said, “Someone get me out of this nightmare,” Over and over. There was more, but that phrase is what stuck out in my mind. The music was played angrily and the voice singing had an overwhelmingly sad, empty and pleading sound to it. My heart went out to the singer and also to the listeners. “How heartbreaking”, I thought, “that even lost and dying people admit that they need someone to get them out.” Do we care enough to tell them there is Someone who can get them out? Do you care enough to step out of our comfort zone; that little box that seems so safe, yet really is full of dangers?

The thing that keeps most people from opening their mouths for the gospel is a disgusting word called fear.

The Parable of Two Frogs

Here’s another story from Kirk Cameron on a Way of the Master episode:

“Two frogs fell into a bowl of cream. The first frog said, [despairingly] “Oh look at me, I’m stuck in this bowl of cream! I think I’ll just sink down and die.” But the other frog said [determinedly], “I will not croak in a bowl of cream!” So he began to kick his little legs and flip his little flippers, and, you know what happened? The cream turned into hard butter, so he climbed onto it and hopped out. I love this frog!”

The first frog thought the task was too big for him. So he didn’t do anything about it. The second frog let his weakness become his strength. And you, as a soldier of Christ, have to let your weakness become your strength. Like Paul said,

“My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness”…For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Cor. 12:9,10

So where am I going with this? Well, our weakness, our fear, can become our strength when we let God take over. Let your fear drive you to your knees, plead for God’s Spirit and remember, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Then don’t worry about what people will think, “Just Do It.”

Which frog do you want to be?

Last exhortations

So, don’t let your fear bog you down and don’t let this day go by without practicing what you just read. He commanded us 2,000 years ago; let’s act on His orders. Remember, God’s word will not return to Him void, and no witnessing you do is ever in vain. Maybe one day in Heaven someone you talked to, or handed a tract to, will come up to you and say, with tears in their eyes, “Thank you,” Wouldn’t it be worth it? A little adrenaline and a little bit of fear is a small price to pay for a soul. Think of all Jesus did for you and for everyone else who will ever trust in Him. I’ll leave you with three words,

 GO. FOR. IT!

I simply agree with all of your posts, i have heard that one (or one like it) and they SING it but.. dont they understand?? do they KNOW there IS someone who CAN help them ??
WHY dont they open the 5 gates of their soul?? they MUST open their 'eye gate' and the 'ear gate' of their soul !!!!! they are THE MASTER of their fate!! they are indeed playing with fire!!

Gaelin (keep up the good ministry)

Hi! Welcome to my blog! Brief description... hmm.. well, I'm going to try to use this blog as a tool, to encourage others and inspire them to seek God for themselves, draw closer to Him and get on fire to tell the ones who need to hear! And also just some random thoughts. So, look around, and feel free to leave a question or comment! Mark 16:15 "And He said to them, "Go into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."
