Are
you new to whole and

The
menu mailer covers 6
dinners (including side
dishes) and one dessert
every week. It
contains a full menu,
shopping list, a
preparation plan, and
serving suggestions for
each meal. Tips and
information are included
in every mailer as well.
What
makes the Cooking
Traditional Foods menu
mailer unique? A
preparation schedule is
included with every menu
mailer. It reminds
you when to thaw the
meat, prep the crock-pot,
make the stock or soak
the grains. Because
lack of planning is a
major hurdle in getting
healthy meals on the
table, this schedule
helps you make sure
everything is done.
It also contains
blanks so you can write
in your own reminders for
breakfast, snacks and
lunches.
Biblical
Womanhood began in
2005 as a ministry to
encourage and equip women
and young women. Through
our bookstore, articles,
newsletter, and blog, we
desire to promote
femininity and build up
women as they embrace
their Biblical callings.
In this humanistic,
feministic culture, we
want to be a breath of
fresh air to women
seeking after something
greater than what the
world has to offer - to
glorify the Lord in all
they do, say, and think!

We are pleased to welcome 15 Black Australorps and Dominique (Dominickers)!! I'm not sure how many of each we have, as they look pretty much alike. We now have 30 chickens!! WE have 9 cuckoo marans and barred rocks (can't tell them apart, so I don't know how many of each we have!). We also have 5 Americanas.
I don't have time to update today, but I've had several questions from readers, I'll be answering them probably on Monday, we just have a really full weekend ahead! Look forward to a picture filled post on Monday!!
not a question to do with chickens (although, I cannot wait until we have a coop built so that I too might enjoy little chickens!)
I just got my copy of Nourishing Traditions, and cannot wait to use it. Unfortunately, I am afraid of my husband's reaction to all of the uses of the term "fermentation." See, we do not drink any sort of alcohol, and although I was raised to use it in cooking, he is very much against it (including wanting to get rid of my vanilla extract!). It does not seem to me that these instructions for lactofermentation are actually turning into alcohol of any kind, but am I wrong? Can you explain this to me, and give me some idea of where to go when I start getting his questions. Thank you!
we have black australorps as well.

In fact my avitar is of the chicks of the black australorps. Cute little things! Enjoy them. They are good mommas, too. A little slow on laying... not the quick layers that the book said so... I had to wait the 6 months... not the 4-5 months the catalog said... that aside, I still love them!
Warmly, ~Melissa

I bet their eggs and meat will be just as tasty as the chicks are cute.
We don't have any livestock yet, but plan to have chickens next year. We are building the chicken house this season. We live in a cold climate so it has to be pretty sturdy and free from drafts.
Love the seedling post, we're growing watermelon as well. A different variety though. We are two weeks from planting in our zone, but the garden is nearly ready to go. We're so excited!
