What a difference a day makes. Yesterday was so wild with wind and this morning the only signs are the broken limbs off the trees. I will have some clean up to do this weekend and maybe a thought of taking down a tree. We have a birch tree in the front yard that was leaning on the telephone line to the neighbors house, so I'm thinking it's not a fairly strong tree. I haven't seen one bend that way before unless it was a poplar tree. I guess i will call my neighbor and see if he needs firewood! Boy, I can't believe all the good fortunes out there with all the free goodies lately. I was given 150 pounds of free onions, another on here was given free cherries, and now another with 450 ears of free corn. Too bad we didn't live closer, we could have done some bartering and swapping for things! Who here couldn't use any of these items. (and yes, my house still smells like onions!) I am so glad that today is Friday. It means that I can really look at my list of to do things and pick one. I am hopefully going to get a few things done outside. Hubby and I are tilling up the perimeter around the front yard for a planter bed. I have been saving seeds from some of my flowers now to replant later and I will save all of my tubers too. This planter bed is going to take about a year to get done since I want to add amendment to the soil to really build up a good base to grow in. I also will have to get the cherry timbers for the bed frame itself. The ground is soooo bad here that it is even hard to walk barefoot because of the weeds and hard soil. I should go and get my day started. I need to vacuum before the grandbaby gets here. Will talk to you later |
