central iowa ice storm
We just had a pretty bad ice storm. We were without power and water for 2 days. There was plenty of snow to melt on the wood stove!! It was a nice experience but I will now have a better plan set up for "potty" issues!! My daughter Daisy was quick to change into her pioneer dress and get to her goats. For some reason chores were alot more fun when you melt snow on the wood stove. We made chili on the wood stove and had very busy day keeping up on the house. Living without electricity makes for a very busy day and requires the children to be even more involved in the family and the things that go on. i really enjoyed it but am very happy for running water and a flushing toilet!! Off to bed for now morning comes early around here!! Blessings, Dawn

that does sound like an adventure. a wood stove would be fun to have. I didn\'t like being w/out electricity a few years ago during an ice storm, although we did have running water throughout the 10 days. God bless. jill
