Chickens Hatched

2 of our bantam hens have been sitting on eggs. Tonight we discovered (well, D did!) that one of the eggs had hatched! The mother was hatched by Penquin last year, she is still unnamed, we just call her the baby. So this new little baby is a 2nd generation Crooked Creek Chicken! "Baby" still has one more egg she's sitting on, and Penquin is sitting on 2 or 3, I forget. lol Pictures coming soon!

Thats nice we have batams as well. We had a hen sitting and then after four days she got up and that was it. We had another batam last month that sat for 17 days and then left so we aren't having very good luck. I said it might be because of our weather. Do you have any ideas why the batams aren't staying on the eggs? haflinger
