A Sad day....

D checked on the goats before he left for work this morning and found the new baby girl dead.

so sad! He found her in the barn, which is all open inside, no stalls, just laying there. It could be that one of the big goats layed on her. guess we'll never know. Calen was with D when they found her, but the other kids don't know yet. Since their all awake, finally, I guess I better go tell them. It's so disappointing, as we were going to keep her.

I will pray for you and especially the children. It is easy to quickly get attached to such a beautiful baby animal. I'm sure it is difficult for you all.

That's one thing about living on a farm that must be hard to take. I know it would for us - especially my children. Praying for you all.

I know how hard it is to lose a baby animal like that. We lost a couple baby goats last Spring. I know children take it the hardest.

When we had some to die, we found out that several other farms had a bunch to die also. Not sure why, it seemed very odd that people in the same area had lost several baby goats.
