crazy farm

• Tuesday, April 24, 2007 - Hello everyone

Hello everyone!  I used to write a blog titled Many Hands Make Light Work.  To make a long story short I have moved to rural Texas and have started a real homestead.  It is a life so different from the one I left.  I was raised in Las Vegas, Nevada.  I have 14 children.  My husband and I decided to bring the kids to a more simplified lifestyle.  We moved to a little town in Texas, population 835 (before we came).  Life here is so different.  I sometimes wonder what I am doing.  I question if I can do it.  I am a city girl with a heart for the country.  I love the outside.  I love the pioneer lifestyle  (or at least I thought I did).

Oh, it gets easier. When we first moved to the country our kids cried for our home in town... they were scared of the noises, the animals, everything... and it was SOOO dARK at night! LOL. It gets easier and you will enjoy the country, just like you thought you would.

Warmly, Melissa

Welcome! Moving to the country.......... it does take some adjustments...... and there are many cultural differences from "suburban or urban life" to rural life.......

I hope you find this community as wonderful as I do! I will check back on you again soon!

Blessings~

welcome welcome!!! you will love it here, and in the country - we have only been in our rural home for 6 months now, but the thought of going back is awful! - even the kids who wanted to at first say "never" if I ask them if they want to move back to SLC
