I wouldn't begin to know how to milk a cow or goat. I say you did great. What about the taste? Is there a big difference in the taste of that milk and the milk from the store?

You should look into getting an Udderly EZ milker! We have milking goats, and people say it is much cleaner, faster and easier to use!!
Good luck with your milking!!

funny you should mention that, I just found those online yesterday and was seriously considering it. I've heard mixed reviews though, so I guess for now I'll keep on hand milking.

It's improvement that counts! Way to hang in there! When I started milking "crazy sister" my nubian goat, I was given the advice to "hang on tight and don't quit!" At least cows don't jump off of the ground completely and I don't think they sit on the milk bucket either...lol. I'm so thankful that the previous owner of my cow had her nice and trained when we bought her.
