What's a girl to do?:PBlessings! I'll get right to the point this time... While talking with the girls last night about our goals for the rest of this week, my Mary-Ann asks me if I noticed the dog is getting awful fat. In a funny way, she says. I ask her to feel and see if she has any fullness to her teats and she says she doesn't think any more than usual. Soooooo, I call the dog over and give her a tummy rub and Grrrrrrrrr! Okay, here's how things happened...we have this Springer...her name is officially Yoncalla Patch...this is her this past Christmas When we moved here she kept disappearing to the neighbors who have a rather handsome black lab. They also have a pitbull but I think that one is neutered (not entirely sure). Anyway, she was getting to the point, while we were seriously distracted during our move, that she was being very disobedient and not coming when called. I suspected something but we never actually saw any real evidence so I dismissed it now that she hasn't disappeared since. Now, lets move on to the fact that she's also 9 years old! We honestly didn't think she COULD because she never DID! If she is indeed, then this will be her first litter ever. Being 9 years old concerns me greatly. She is healthy and active. However, I do worry that this could harm her in some way. We are praying that if she IS (and not just fat) that it will go smoothly and she will handle it well. I'm also afraid she'll try to whelp under my bed! (it's her favorite place) Okay, I'm done ranting:P This will probably be the only litter she'll ever have if she is indeed having them as she is old for a first timer. As usual...all in the day of a farmstead:P God be with thee! Sister Lori { Last Page } { Page 23 of 213 } { Next Page } |
