Blessings!

Well, this past Sunday we visited a new church. I admit that I do not look forward to finding another fellowship. It's not that I don't want fellowship, it's just that it's like shopping for the perfect pair of shoes. The one that fits the best, is comfortable, not too showy and will last.

Moving is not the hardest part, the hardest part is finding new fellowship that "fits best, is comfortable, not too showy and will last." This was our first try since moving here and here's what I think so far:P

It is a tiny churhc established and built in 1895. It's a lovely church with all the beautiful trims and such. The pastor is elderly, which we don't mind a bit, and it's a small congregation, which we also don't mind a bit. He welcomed us openly and assured us that they were not an "emotional" congregation. I wasn't exactly sure what that meant but everyone greeted us warmly. Of course, there were only about 10 folks there:P

They do have children but most of them were not there. They expect a full house come Resurrection Day so perhaps we will visit them again on that day to see who the rest of them are. Not sure yet.

They sang beautiful hymns, enjoyed the sermon greatly. Being an elderly man he did drift into side moments of stories but they did relate to the sermon so that was alright too:) A very gentle soul who loves the Lord.

Miss Sarah keeps saying she thought it was "weird" and Miss Mary-Ann says she liked it fine. She always says that. She says she will go wherever Papa and I choose. Miss Sarah is much more openly opinionated about things so it's sometimes a little hard to slow that one down:P She has a heart for God and knows what she believes. It's helping her to know when to be silent and let God do His stuff that's a challenge sometimes:P

Brother Craig hasn't really given his opinion yet. He is still pondering it. I know that whatever he chooses will be best for us and we will adjust no matter what:) Who knows, perhaps we'll be visiting a lot of places before this is over. After all, we are a covering, plain dressing Mennonite family. We can let go of the title of Mennonite but not the covering and clothing. Some churches are adamantly against it and will say so. It was why we left our church of 5 years way back when and went to the Mennonite fellowship.

Anyway, we are undecided right now. We are talking of going back to our fellowship for Resurrection Day and share that day with our church family of many years. It's only a couple hours away and it's only one day. Perhaps the weather will hold and we can make  that trip. It would be such a blessing to share this last important moment with them and giving us a chance to really say goodbye.

My heart is a little saddened over this move from them but the Father is with us no matter where we go.

   God be with thee!

Sister Lori

I understand how it is when looking for the new place of fellowship. I can not find any here that are simple enough. All the churches here have become more like a social club where everyone has a fun time. They all have loud rock-type bands that play more than the preacher preaches. The movie screen that has the Bible verses and words to the music on them is really a distraction to me. They lack of clothing and immodest behavior is another problem in the churches here. I do not want my family exposed to such things so I sure won't encourage them to attend a church that is full of it.
At the present we are having worship and Bible study here at home on Sundays, then we go visit with family members and have Christian fellowship.

I hope you do find the "perfect" fit:)

What Your Thanksgiving Meal Says About You
When it comes to the holidays, you follow and love the big traditions. You look forward to them every year.

You see the holidays as a time to be close to loved ones. It's a good time to reconnect and make memories.

You like the aspects of the holiday that remind you of your childhood - opening presents, treats, and old favorite foods.

During the holidays, you are likely to feel comforted. At your worst, you feel a bit over-indulgent.

You consider yourself to be a bit of a purist, and you're proud of it.

You tend to spend your holidays sharing and pitching in. You'll do whatever needs to be done.
