The Lord is so patient

Blessings!

Well, just when we think that life is calming down, something crops up that shows us that He is always in control and is so patient with all of us. he waited so long for me and I know he is waiting for others to finally come around too.

I got a phonecall from my mother just a bit ago and she told me that my brothers wife apparently suffered a debilitating stroke. On the good side, she was looked over so closely that they discovered she is not suffering from any heart disease as she had first feared because her mother did. This was caused by a clot.

During their testing and such they also found out that she has type 2 diabetes which no one knew!

My brother has been by her side for the past 4 days. He didn't phone my mother until tonight because he was so busy and preoccupied with her care. He lives in Wisconsin and we are not near enough to be of any help. The moved there several years ago and sadly we have not seen much of them since. In fact, Brother Craig and I went across country with our children to visit friends, my brother and his wife and daughter and to see the country. We stayed with my brother for several days. It was such a lovely visit. I wish we had been able to stay longer but we couldn't be gone any longer. We had alreday stayed away an extra week from home. I am so glad we were able to visit with them though.

While my mother was on the phone with him, he said that his wife was trying to squeeze his fingers. He said that it was hardly noticable but he could still feel it and was excited for her progress. I don't know much more though. He said she is paralyzed but didn't say if it was just one side or completely. She apparently cannot speak yet.

If you think of us, please say a prayer of healing for her. And for my brothers heart. His heart toward God, that is.

My brother (as I mentioned before several weeks ago) is an agnostic. I love my brother and pray for him to find the Lord in his life, every day. When my mother spoke to him she told him that she hoped he didn't mind but she was gong to pray for his wife. To her surprised and delight (as well as MY delight) he said he would appreciate it. They could use all the help they can get right now! God is so good! I am praying that this moment will show him Gods hand in his life. How He has always been there just waiting for my brothers heart to turn to Him.

I am pretty sure my Sister in Law believes in God. When we were visiting she mentioned her mother and heaven several times. I am pretty certain that she believes that her mother is in heaven looking down on her in a better place now that her suffering is over. I don't think they discussed it much between them but I wonder that she probably prayed for him as well.

My brother loves his wife so dearly. They've been together since they graduated highschool. I just pray that she is healed and he sees the Hand of God in her recovery.

May the Good Lord watch over them and let them continue in this life together for many more years to come.

I want to thank you all for your prayers as I know you are such prayer warriors. He cannot help but hear our cry.

God be with thee!

Sister Lori
