Ever have "one of those days"?

Blessings!

Well that's really a rather loaded question. Each of us has had "one of those days" but what "one of those days" IS differs...EVERY DAY!:P

It seems like just as we have things beginning to come together here in our new home, something else comes up to shake our world a little.

This morning, Miss Sarah went out to feed animals. She came back in over a bad bag of grain. Not a problem, open another one and we'll take that one back to the farm supply and replace it. The ducks were out (as usual) and getting in her way in the barn (as usual). Animals were getting ready to get their morning stuff when she comes flying back into the house to say that one of the Nubians has cut her mouth somehow.

I get my shoes on and follow her out to help her get the goat separated out so we can treat it. Getting a closer look at it, it appears to be a cyst of some sort. No it's not CL. I KNOW what that looks like...after our scare last summer with that I am CERTAIN it's not that...but what is it? Could she have gotten punctured there from a piece of fencing? A splinter from the manger? A bite? A sting? Ugh!

Right now I am of a mind to get rid of all the animals (except the dog and cat) and move into a big house in town where I can spread out (inside) and have a tiny yard to care for and not ever have to treat another ailing farm animal again. No gardens to rake, hoe, weed and cultivate. No muddy hands and shoes. No cracked hands and feet from being out in the thick of things. No animals to feed in the dark. No milking twice a day. No egg gathering. No fence repairs. No vet bills. No culling, no slaughtering, no noise.

Then I walk around the corner of the house and see all the ducks and chickens excitedly waiting for me to do something. Anything! They follow me to and fro clucking and quacking. I do my normal routine walk and hunt for hidden eggs (it's terminally easter around here:P). I pet the goats who come over to the fence for a little loving. I smell the fresh hay in the barn.

Okay, I'll stick around her a little longer and see what develops:)

God be with thee!

Sister Lori

As I treat the 3rd dog with this skin condition we're fighting, bathing all 3 of them, handle washing all the laundry to rid us of it, and then see that the cat has injured himself...I can so relate....and I AM in town with very little space outside....
hugs!

The bright side is tomorrow is a new day...

One of those days, we all have them. I wont trade my farm life for a city life, even though it would be easier. I am trying to get us moved out to our farm within the next year. God Bless. mj

Yep!

Your opening sentence sums up how I fell all the time as of late! We get the homestead refinanced.....then think we are finally ok, and then one horrible thing after another! :-(
