   Okay, you all know we've been moving for the past several weeks. We are nearly done and only have about one more load to finish up from the old place. We got delayed this past week due to snow and ice:P

   Well, several weeks ago I had been out on the deck of the old house, shooing the ducks away from the pool to get them penned for moving the next day. Well, it had been raining and I walked down the ramp and slipped a little. I caught myself with my right hand on the edge of the deck. No big deal. It stung for a little but other than feeling like a slight sprain I thought nothing more of it.

   Well, over this past few days it was getting worse and worse. I spoke to several folks about how it felt and they all agreed that it sounded like either tendonitis or carpal tunnel. I agreed since the symptoms all made sense.

   Today I kept dropping things and my thumb and first two fingers kept getting numb and tingly so I finaly gave in and when Brother Craig got home from work I asked him to take me to our doctor.

   The doctor poked and prodded and said it was probably carpal tunnel or tendonitis but wanted an xray to rule out arthritis (I have arthritis in my feet). We took the xray and I'm sitting waiting for the results when the doctor comes in and says...we'll the good news is there's no arthritis...but the bad news is...IT'S BROKEN!...WHAT?????

   They all looked at it and all concur that what looks like a fracture that runs completely from one side to the other is probably a clean straight break. Now I'm sporting a lovely, irritating, fancy, aggravating THING on my arm that is hindering me beyond belief! And the doctor says it will remain on for at least 6 weeks when they will then determine how much longer it should stay one:(

   They are going to do some nerve testing come next Wednesday and as soon as they hear from the insurance company, they are scheduling me for some bone density thingamajig. This will help them to decide if they want to go in and put pins in:(

   I have one more load to do at the old place. Brother Craigs birthday is tomorrow and I wanted to have it all finished up so he won't have to go over there ever again. I have my sweet son and his new wife meeting me there in them morning and our two girls will be a lot of help. My son has a friend that will hopefully be able to join us to at least dismantle and load up all the gorilla racks and my wood cookstove (which is mostly iron:P) and empty the barn of all the remaining tools. Then it's just the little things left in the garage and mopping floors and the downstairs bathroom and we are done.

   We will only have my son and his friend for a couple hours as they both have to work so we'll make the best of it and hopefully we'll be home before Brother Craig is:)

   So that was my news for the day:P

Oh dear. I broke my wrist (when I was much younger - in my 30's). Yes...what a hindrance. I'll be praying that your injury heals well, and that you will be able to cope with it.

I'm so sorry to hear this. I broke my ankle a couple of years back and couldn't walk around for three months. I hated it, I had things to do, didn't the doctor know that, LOL. Good luck and take it easy...........Kitty
PS the 31st is my dd's birthday, she is 25. Tell Brother Craig Happy Birthday for me.

Oh Sister Lori that is awful one never knows.. I'm so glad to see you will be having help over the old house. Do take it easy and rest it..

Oh bless your heart! That's pretty much the last thing you need, my dear. I wish I could come and help but we'd be a fine pair with my current ailments, lol. I'll be praying that you heal quickly!

I am so sorry to hear of your broken wrist. I know you have been tested greatly in this past move but do know that you have many friends praying for you and your family. Tell Brother Craig HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
