I know it could be worse...but why this bad?:PBlessings! Have you ever had one of those days? You know the kind. A Murphy's Law type day? "Anything that CAN go wrong WILL"? That describes my day. I know it COULD be worse but WHY?:( We started out with snow and ice and the announcement from the girls who had just come in from feeding the animals "Mom! The ducks are gone!" Ugh! Well, after close investigation, indeed 12 of our 13 Campbell's are gone. Not a single sign of them. No feathers to indicate a predator (and that would have to be one mighty hungry predator to do 12 ducks in):P I didn't have time to deal with it at that moment, however, because Brother Craig needed to get to his eye appointment. The eye appointment ended up taking nearly 4 hours instead of the normal 30 minutes. Tests we didn't anticipate them doing this time around since he only has these done once every 4 months. They decided to do the injections every 3 weeks for the next 9 weeks starting with todays and then do another 4 hour testing to check progress. We arrive home too late to go to the old place and finish things up so we could be officially out of there! We check on the animals and then the girls and I decide to make a run down the river to check folks fields and such to see if the ducks might have gotten off the river in one of them (nothing). We were gone all of 30 minutes when we arrived back home. The girls then go out back to check waters and break any ice in them, get the goats moved around for breeding (and rebreeding) when Miss Mary-Ann comes running to the house nearly in tears..."Mr. Smith is gone!" This is Mr. Smith:( Our darling ducks!:( We called and called. Shook feed buckets, snapped his favorite treats and nothing! Not a sound! I am just sick about it all. The ducks were bad enough but they can pretty much take care of themselves, but Mr. Smith just isn't big enough to keep safe on his own. We have combed the entire area looking for him. The hard part is that he can be stubborn and if he's happy playing hooky, he'll hide until he's hungry enough or bored enough. Soooooooo, we are praying that he will be hungry and bored enough to come home by morning. Lord willing! We have made up flyers with his picture and left them around in hopes that a local will find it and phone us and say, "Yes...he's in our barn because we found him wandering around, so glad we found him for you"!!! Then Monday, if he's not back yet, we'll put an ad in the papers. We might as well include the ducks in it too, just in case they have washed up on someones land nearby:) I am trying hard to just let things go. To just find joy in what we are trying to accomplish here. To trust the Lord no matter the outcome. But I must say I am feeling strained. I have a headache that is quickly becoming a migraine. For those who suffer migraines you know what I mean. It's that headache, that even in the very very early stage you KNOW is the onset of a migraine. A headache that no matter what you do you KNOW it's not going to work and you are in for a real ride:( I just don't need one right now. I really don't need another thing to come up that is going to hinder finishing this move. It seems like we are having those flaming arrows thrown at us at every turn. Ever since we began this move, things have come up to interfere with it. We KNOW this is the move the Lord intended for us. Perhaps it's the enemy that is making things so difficult so we will begin to doubt the Lords leading in this. Ugh! SATAN GET THEE BEHIND ME! I'm just ready for this to be done and for us to just settle in here and get on with things. I am ready for the drama to stop and the peace to return to our family. If you think of us, could you just say a little prayer? Just pray for HIS peace, not the peace this world offers, but the peace only HE can give. God be with thee!
