Today is the day!Blessings! Well, today is a day of mixed emotions and excitment. Today, Matthew will promise to love and cherish his bride for his life on this earth. Last night we took him to a special supper at one of his favorite places (Olive Garden). A rare treat for our family as we don't eat away often. We came home and spent the evening watching an old movie together. After the girls went to bed we got the opportunity to talk about all those little memories of his 19 1/2 years of being my little boy. We talked about his responsibilities as a husband and her responsibilities as his helpmeet. We spoke of the sacrifices and encouragment in marriage that help us through those rocky moments when we feel overwhelmed and frustrated and the sweet joy that comes from sharing a life together knowing that we have someone beside us no matter what may come our way. We talked about his faith in his Heavenly Father and where He will fit into their lives. How he wants to make sure that they turn to the Lord daily in their journey as husband and wife and one day as parents of the Good Lord so chooses. I shared my mama's heart with him and let him know how my heart wants him to stay my little boy but I know that it's time for him to be the man God created him to be. Today, my boy will take his first steps as a husband, provider and protector of his precious helpmeet. I will stand beside him and wish him well on his journey as he leaves us and cleaves unto his wife. Tonight, our home will be one voice quieter, one bed empty, one plate shy. Tonight my son will be a man. May God bless thee as all gaze upon thy sons and daughters and imagine their lives, one day, separating from thine as they embark upon their own walk with the Lord in their new lives as men and women, husbands and wives. He's the little one on the far left Being himself
