Bread Alert:P
Blessings!
I was given this information several years ago and just came across it this afternoon. I wanted to share it with those that still buy storebought breads. In fact, while we were out this afternoon doing a little barn saleing I stopped at the store to pick up some potatoes and carrots for the crockpot stew we started. I had read this information earlier and thought I would see and sure enough it's still the same!:P
So here goes...
When you go to buy bread in the grocery store, have you ever wondered
which is the freshest, so you "squeeze" for freshness or softness? Did
you know that bread is delivered fresh to the stores five days a week?
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Each day has a different
color twist tie. They are: Monday = Blue, Tuesday = Green, Thursday = Red
Friday = White and Saturday = Yellow . So if today was Thursday, you would want red twist tie; not white which is Fridays (almost a week old)!
The colors go alphabetically by color Blue- Green - Red - White - Yellow
Monday through Saturday. Very easy to remember I thought this was
interesting. I looked in the grocery store and the bread wrappers DO have
different twist ties, and even the ones with the plastic clips have
different colors. You learn something new everyday! Enjoy fresh bread
when you buy bread with the right color on the day you are shopping.
So there you have it:)
God be with thee!

You know I had read or heard that once before. But silly me never stops to notice what color the tie is. I do know that it really doesn't matter in my home, because the poor bread never last more than a day or two anyway, LOL. ..........Kitty
~~~Bread doesn't last long around here either:P I rarely buy it anymore but sometimes it's necessary:)
I didn't know that! Thanks for the tip. :o)
I try to make most of our bread, but there are those occasions where I have to pick some up elsewhere. My husband ran into a a farm market yesterday and I asked him to grab some smoked turkey and a loaf of bread. Would you believe that the bread cost almost as much as the turkey?! (It was $5.29 a loaf!) I nearly fainted!
~~~Yikes! That's a spendy loaf of bread! We mostly make ours too. On occassion we do buy it as it's needed rather quickly.
God be with thee!

I had noticed that I got different ties or clips but just thought it was pretty, especially when I was little. I never knew that their was a reason. Just goes to show that their is a reason for everything even in bread makers. LOL! Thanks for the information, it is good to know.
Blessings,
Sherry

I have heard that before however, I am a squeezer.LOL
I bought a bread machine yesterday, I am using it now. I have never used one before but it is quite simple.I hope we like the bread and
I am hoping this will use less electric than the oven does.
