Just a Ramble:)Blessings! It's 2am and I can't sleep. Lots of things have happened this past week and my mind simply won't shut down so I figured if I write my ramble I'll empty my head enough to get a little sleep:) This past week, we've had trouble with neighbors. It did come to a pleasant conclusion, however, we still don't know who shot their rooster. This makes me terribly uncomfortable about leaving the animals for any reason. And of course I've been going over all the "whatifs":S What if, the bullet intended for that rooster had gone just a little further and hit our Sarah? What if those pigs had gotten into the yard and hurt the dog, or any of the other animals as well as our daughters? What if, what if, what if:s The landlords still intend to sell this place so we continue to search for housing with land that will allow us to take our animals. We went over all the options this weekend and we really just cannot afford to take this place even though re really like it. After diligent prayer and discussion, not only could we not afford the payments but we KNOW the Lord wants us to stay debt free and will bring us to where He wants us that we can afford to buy outright. Of this, we are certain:) My mother has phoned me daily for the last 3 weeks (sometimes 3 and 4 times a day) trying to convince us to take a trip down to their place in California. It's a very long trip, we cannot leave the animals, Matthew has to work and his fiance rents a room and also works so we cannot leave them alone. Not that we don't trust them, but why put them in the path of unnecessary temptation? I love my parents dearly and miss them very much but our move was a necessary one and well...nuff said:P Sarah has been battling a fungus on her hand that requires steroid cream to get rid of it. This is sort of like having athletes foot on her hand except that the fungus comes from thorny plants. We are fairly certain she got it from the blackberry bushes out back. It's sore and itchy but the medicine (we just picked it up today) is helping with that and it already looked better this evening after only 2 doses. She wears a cotton glove over her hand while she sleeps. She wears a latex glove on that hand when she milks and such to protect it. She doesn't much care for it as it makes her hand sweat and itch but we don't want it to spread worse nor do we want to pass it to anything else. The doctor says that it's a type of fungus that is passed through the plant directly (not person to person). It apparently gets under the skin through a scratch or cut rather than spreading from the outside of the skin it spreads underneath the skin and erupts in blisters. He also says that folks who get it are predisposed to it. Sort of like, not everyone gets atheletes foot. Mary-Ann is battling her stomach again so she is having to go back on her special diet. It's a good thing she likes yogurt and cooked fruits:) Her spleen is enlarged again and this causes her to have such awful stomach pains. We were able to find a non-narcotic pain killer so we don't have to worry about addiction:) Thank the Lord our doctor is so understanding about our desire to stay away from antibiotics and other types of synthetic medications. We believe that there is a time for those but by not taking them too often they work much better and quickly when needed. She will be going for her yearly reevaluation come December. That's always such a long few days for her but she's a real trooper about it. We are very thankful for the Ronald McDonald House too. They make the whole ordeal comfortable and restful. Brother Craig came home Friday for our anniversary. It was such a lovely evening. He took me to a very nice supper and we had a nice, quiet night. Saturday our son phoned us and asked if he could stay with us a few days. Ugh:s We laid down the groundrules and he agreed to them. He will be here until Friday then he goes for training for 3 weeks. After that he moves south to his mothers place. Long story short, he has a lot of growing up to do. The only reason we have allowed him the chance to stay with us is because he is showing signs of trying to help himself. We continue to pray over him. Kristina and the girls and I spent a bit of time going over wedding plans:) It is all just so exciting:) Lots to do before the wedding. April seems so far away yet I know it's not as far away as it sounds:) Imagine our youngest son is going to be a husband:) What a blessing! We got paid Friday as well and it felt so good to pay all our bills and have some to put away in savings:) It's been a long time since we've had extra:) And in just 4 more weeks we'll have dental coverage! I am in desparate need of that. I am not a good dental patient however, but it really needs to be done. They have to sedate me to even just clean my teeth. Bad past experience with a dentist and I'm afraid it made it a nightmare for all future dentists. I'm a grabber. That's a dangerous thing to be when they are trying to help you by fixing your teeth. Those drills can do a lot of damage quickly if one is not careful. But I digress:P I continue to get things cut out, but the pile is getting higher and I've had no time to start sewing yet. I know that I will have the opportunity to do that very soon. And I will be prepared for it by having it all cut out and ready to go:) Okay, I'm finally beginning to get sleepy:) I best take advantage of that while I have the chance. I have to be up in 4 hours so I'm off to slumberland:) God be with thee! Sister Lori { Last Page } { Page 142 of 230 } { Next Page } |
