Blessings!

Well, our weekend with Papa was a wonderful one. He just left us for his week at work. The house is strangely quiet once again. I don't like this but I am content knowing that the Lord has orchestrated all this for our good and I can't wait to see what He has planned for us next:)

The end of summer is nearing and fall is in the air. The nights are getting cooler and the days...well, the days are still hotter than blazes:P However, we do get to enjoy a slight breeze through most of the day which helps:)

This week we are emptying out the go-down and rearranging and cleaning it, then putting it back together again. We moved in some extra shelving so that will be handy:) I'll take pictures to share when we are done:)

Miss Sarah is busy with her studies today and we are having a bit of quiet time right now. I was going to get down to some sewing but wanted to post here first since it's been awhile. I still am finishing the sewingroom and getting more shelving in there as well. I have so much in sewing supplies that organization is the only way to survive:P

Over this weekend we talked about several different things that we've been praying over and have come to some conclusions:) Our Mary-Ann turns 18 on March 1st and she wants to then go on mission to Haiti with our missions folks. There is a gal in our fellowship that spends 6 months every year there and Mary-Ann would like to go with her when she goes next spring. She is really looking forward to eventually making the trip.

We are also getting ready to start a homestudy for adoption! And yes...from Haiti!:) We are all so excited about it. The Lord has continued to bring this to our hearts over the last several years and we know that now is the time. If things work the way we believe they will, our Mary-Ann will escort her new siblings home:) The Lord will do His work and we must patiently wait on His timing so we'll see how it goes:)

We decided too, that we will stay here in this house until at least next summer. No use in moving in the rain and with all the housing details taken care of for Brother Craig, we are at peace with this choice. It will be very difficult to find a place with land and a house that will allow us to have our farm animals. We certainly don't want to start over again as we've worked hard to build up our farm.

I have been asked by many folks about our lifestyle and how we organize and downsize and such as well as our homeskilling the children as opposed to schooling them. I will be sharing these things with you as time permits to make it simpler than emailing everyone individually over it:)

Well, it's such a lovely day and very hot so the girls and I have decided we will take a little time in the pool for a bit before heading into the tasks that need to be done. I shouldn't let it go but it's so hot and the house will be cooler for that sort of thing come later this afternoon:)

   Have a very blessed week!

God be with thee!

Sister Lori

We are really looking forward to cooler nights that's for sure:) Last night the house never did cool down and today it was almost cooler outside than inside which isn't saying much:P We are getting a lovely evening breeze tonight so hopefully tomorrow will be a bit better:)
We did have a wonderful weekend and I miss him terribly now but he'll be home again Friday:)

Wow!! Some VERY exciting news there! (Adoption!) Oh, how I have dreamed for years that we may be able to do it, and I'll keep my heart open to it until the Lord leads otherwise. I am so excited for you and for Mary-Ann and her journey. It's always a blessing to visit you! :o)

By the way, we are about to tackle the upholstery project...thanks again for your words of wisdom!

Amy

Yes adoption...the funny thing is I never intended to ever get married OR have children. Not that I didn't like children, I just knew I was too selfish and incapable of be a mother. So I resigned myself to loving other peoples children. God knew better than I did for sure:P 8 children later and here we are getting ready to add to our blessings:) Mary-Ann is so excited about being the one that gets to be a very important part of our journey. She has urged us to adopt for several years now so she's thrilled:) All of us are:)
Let me know (TAKE PICTURES!) how your reupholstering goes. I am excited to see how it's going. I am getting ready to redo my sofa as well. The fabric is ghastly and I have wanted to do it for several years now..well, no time like the present:) You've inspired me!
God be with thee!
