A productive dayBlessings! Our day was very productive and fun:) I still need to take some pictures but for now I'll just share:) I have a wonderful sewingroom. It also holds our washer/dryer. Ever since we moved here I've been having to sidestep laundry while getting sewing done or even just to get to bed...you see, it's at the base of the stairs to our bedroom!:P Last night, after going through things and deciding what stays and what goes (clothing, bedding, linens) and running back and forth into the garage and back into the kitchen I knew it had been enough! That poor sewingroom had been overwhelmed with all those things plus all my various sewing projects that had been set aside or hadn't quite been cleaned up yet to make room for the next project, since we moved here. I had been saying how I was going to clean it up for months. As always, things happen and I would get distracted and try to get back to it another time:P We all know that doesn't usually happen soooooooooooooooooo...today we did! Now don't get to excited, it's not entirely finished YET but it's nearly done and I am planning on it being DONE tomorrow before noon meal:) THIS time I"ll make it! The only reason I stopped for today is because it's 9:30pm and I've run out of steam:P The only thing needing to be finished is getting the unwanted items washed and dried and packed up for the mission, the floor needs scrubbing and I need to get an extra shelf inside for the last few boxes to be organized on. This will also allow me to finish getting my other sewing things out of the garage and out of Brother Craigs way so he can finish making the bookshelves for the frontroom:) That will help to finally get the frontroom finished too:) Today, everyone was feeling fine, fair week is over, no errands to run (well one came up later), and no one had to work! (outside the home that is:P) So I told everyone that we needed to focus on three simple things today. 1. The kitchen needed to be scrubbed. 2. The frontroom needed to be completely organized (with the exception of the bookbox pile in the corner) and 3. The sewingroom needed to be at least nearly completed. Mary-Ann cleaned the frontroom beautifully. Sarah helped Mary-Ann to clean the kitchen and then we started on the sewingroom:) Well, I had already begun the sewingroom but they came in to help after the first two rooms were done:) It looks so very nice in there, I am so excited to have it ready to use once again. The last thing to be done is to get all the patterns accounted for and put back in their packets, the floors need doing and my craftbooks need organizing. The clothing is nearly finished and we'll be able to close the doors on the washer again:) We got a call from a girl we had tried to contact during fair to purchase an English Lop from her for Mary-Ann who has been looking for one for the last 6 months. Soooooooo, since it was payday and I needed to deposit it (I was going to do it tomorrow) we drove out to pick him up:) He's such a cutie. And WOW IS HE HUGE! and he's only 4 months old! He's sleeping in her room for this week until we get the hutch recovered. The chickenwire needs replacing so we'll get that done by this weekend:) We did a little evening swimming after finishing up in the sewingroom and now everyone but Brother Craig and I are in bed. Tomorrow we'll finish up the sewingroom completely and then I'll get down to sewing some things that need done. I have several dresses to do for me, a few for each of the girls, some headcoverings, jammies for the grandsons and a few shirts for the men as they are in dire need:) The icecream just finished churning so I best get in there and get it into the freezer then off to bed:) Have a very blessed week! We have some terrific news but I'll save that for later as soon as we are really sure:) God be with thee! Sister Lori { Last Page } { Page 163 of 230 } { Next Page } |
