A productive day

Blessings!

Our day was very productive and fun:) I still need to take some pictures but for now I'll just share:)

I have a wonderful sewingroom. It also holds our washer/dryer. Ever since we moved here I've been having to sidestep laundry while getting sewing done or even just to get to bed...you see, it's at the base of the stairs to our bedroom!:P

Last night, after going through things and deciding what stays and what goes (clothing, bedding, linens) and running back and forth into the garage and back into the kitchen I knew it had been enough! That poor sewingroom had been overwhelmed with all those things plus all my various sewing projects that had been set aside or hadn't quite been cleaned up yet to make room for the next project, since we moved here. I had been saying how I was going to clean it up for months. As always, things happen and I would get distracted and try to get back to it another time:P We all know that doesn't usually happen soooooooooooooooooo...today we did!

Now don't get to excited, it's not entirely finished YET but it's nearly done and I am planning on it being DONE tomorrow before noon meal:) THIS time I"ll make it! The only reason I stopped for today is because it's 9:30pm and I've run out of steam:P

The only thing needing to be finished is getting the unwanted items washed and dried and packed up for the mission, the floor needs scrubbing and I need to get an extra shelf inside for the last few boxes to be organized on. This will also allow me to finish getting my other sewing things out of the garage and out of Brother Craigs way so he can finish making the bookshelves for the frontroom:) That will help to finally get the frontroom finished too:)

Today, everyone was feeling fine, fair week is over, no errands to run (well one came up later), and no one had to work! (outside the home that is:P) So I told everyone that we needed to focus on three simple things today. 1. The kitchen needed to be scrubbed. 2. The frontroom needed to be completely organized (with the exception of the bookbox pile in the corner) and 3. The sewingroom needed to be at least nearly completed.

Mary-Ann cleaned the frontroom beautifully. Sarah helped Mary-Ann to clean the kitchen and then we started on the sewingroom:) Well, I had already begun the sewingroom but they came in to help after the first two rooms were done:) It looks so very nice in there, I am so excited to have it ready to use once again.  The last thing to be done is to get all the patterns accounted for and put back in their packets, the floors need doing and my craftbooks need organizing. The clothing is nearly finished and we'll be able to close the doors on the washer again:)

We got a call from a girl we had tried to contact during fair to purchase an English Lop from her for Mary-Ann who has been looking for one for the last 6 months. Soooooooo, since it was payday and I needed to deposit it (I was going to do it tomorrow) we drove out to pick him up:) He's such a cutie. And WOW IS HE HUGE! and he's only 4 months old! He's sleeping in her room for this week until we get the hutch recovered. The chickenwire needs replacing so we'll get that done by this weekend:)

We did a little evening swimming after finishing up in the sewingroom and now everyone but Brother Craig and I are in bed.

Tomorrow we'll finish up the sewingroom completely and then I'll get down to sewing some things that need done. I have several dresses to do for me, a few for each of the girls, some headcoverings, jammies for the grandsons and a few shirts for the men as they are in dire need:)

The icecream just finished churning so I best get in there and get it into the freezer then off to bed:) Have a very blessed week!

We have some terrific news but I'll save that for later as soon as we are really sure:)

God be with thee!

I am glad that you are able to complete the things that you want to get done. I always feels so good after a "declutter fest" in any given area of my home. One is coming shortly for me, I really have picked up too many things lately and need to reduce in some areas. Have a great and blessed week.

~~It does really feel good to get something accomplished like this. And it feels less overwhelming when I walk through there now:)
I'm afraid that estate and barn sales are my downfall. It's difficult for me to turn away from things and sometimes I cave in anyway and end up with some that, although it is useful, I really don't need. When that happens I put it on eBay:)
God be with thee!

Hello Sister Lori!
Glad to hear that you have had a very productive day. I know too well how sewing supplies can take over. I don't have a sewing room so I have to use the dining room. UGH! One of these days I hope to have a sewing/craft room.
Oh yeah, I know what your secret news is! LOL!
Congratulations on that! Praising the Lord!
Blessings,
Miki

~~Shhhhhh! It's not official yet:P
I used to have the diningtable as my sewing table for lots of years. It was so hard to have to clean it up in between meals and often the project would get put aside and left for months at a time:s And usually some piece would get lost in the process:P I must admit this sewingroom is a real treat and I am spoiled:)
God be with thee!

Congratulations on your sewing room! I helped my mom declutter her closet this afternoon. Bless her heart, she has lost so much weight (due to illness), she can only keep literally a few items of clothing. She has been feeling so bad as of late and it gave her such a lift to have something done that has been needing doing. I so enjoy your blog and reading of your journey with your grandsons! I can't wait to hear your good news!

Bless you,
amy

~~Isn't it a blessing to get to lift someone by doing such a small thing as decluttering a closet? It's my sidejob:) I absolutely love to help others declutter...It's sort of a ministry for me:)
God be with thee!
