Such a lovely day at fair!

Blessings!

I do not, as of yet, have the pictures but I wanted to share that Miss Mary-Ann took a 2nd place on a drawing, 2 particpation awards on the other two drawings, a 3rd on a photograph and a 2nd on a photograph. And Miss Sarah took 2nd on her sewing:) They are both so proud and excited:)

Miss Sarah also helped to show goats on Tuesday and took Junior Grand Champion! It wasn't her goat but she was pleased just the same:) The owner of the goat is her Mentor in the 4H program and such a good man. He and his wife and two children have been involved in 4H and FFA for nearly 20 years now.

The littles had a good time at fair today. They were so good but it was warm and everyone got a little too much sun. No real sunburns but a little pink for sure:) Those boys and our girls will be little brownies come morning...me?...well, I stay covered as much as possible...I don't do well in the sun:)

We took lots of pictures of our day today and as soon as we get the award photos taken I'll post them all:) Tomorrow we have to dress a fruit or vegetable to get in for free:P Actually Sarah's mentor gave us passes for the week so Morgan will be the one decorating his vegie:) He's so excited:)

I must say though, I tend to be a people watcher when we are at fair. I'm always surprised (I can't imagine why) at how folks dress and allow their children to dress. We, sadly, watched inappropriate leering from older men at quite young little girls and even boys who were dressed scantily. I wonder how it is that a mother and/or father do not seem to notice these things? And why would someone allow their child to wear so little? Of course, most of those mothers (very sad) are wearing the same if not less than their child.

We spent time in prayer throughout our day for those families who may surely see heartache in the years to come (or sooner). What a fallen world we have.

Well, I hadn't meant to get on my soapbox in this post so I'll end now as it's quite late and I have to get Miss Sarah back to the fairgrounds early in the morning as she is ring clerk for the goat shows tomorrow.

   Be blessed and safe!

God be with thee!

Sister Lori

Well tell Miss Sarah congrats on all her wonderful accomplishments at the fair. I loved it when my kiddos were in 4-H. I even entered the adult catagories in some groups. I actually won 1st prize for a Christmas wreath that I had made when I was teenager, a gazillion years ago, lol. It was very exciting. My ds won grand champion for a meat pie that we concocked a couple of years back. That too was very exciting.
Well have a great day, and try to stay cool.

Please congratulate the girls for me for a job well done! The fair is so much fun, but like you, I was very sad for the state that our world was in. I really felt like a fish out of water if I left the barns. I had a heavy heart much of the week for the things I saw. We're on our way to state fair judging early in the morning and that will be interesting in such a heat wave! I look forward to your pictures~ they are always such a joy!
