Discovery and family
Blessings! The last few days have been so full of fun, discovery and changes:) The boys are coming along so well. This was our little Theron, laying with our cat Spot...or rather laying ON her:P This cat was a ferrel kitten. She doesn't allow anyone near her unless it's HER idea. Ever since the boys got here he has hounded this cat who is an island unto herself and she has tolerated anything and everything he does with her! He's very gentle and never hurts her (at least not on purpose) but she just puts up with it all and purrs no less! Silly thing, anyone else even so much as tries to pet her (except for Brother Craig who belongs to HER:P), she bites. He's charmed her:) This is how we spend a quiet morning after tasking and breakfast is done. Well, it's how we spend it with younguns in the house:) Our Sarah slept late as she had been up late with little Theron so we did her tasks for her. Pappy got home from the market just in time to see the finish up of little Theron...no more hair in his little eyes:) He was laughing because the electric trimmer tickled his ear:)
Isn't he a handsome little man?
Morgan climbed our apple tree to reach the ones we couldn't:) He was so brave and proud that he helped to pick enough apples for pie and applesauce.
Morgan in the henhouse.
Morgan counted the chickens so we could get the henhouse secured for the night. He had to count them twice because the first time he counted 25, but the second time around he counted 26 and we were able to put them to bed:)
Morgan learned to milk his very first goat! He wasn't able to finish her out and said the reason was because she was holding back some so Sarah could have a try too:)
Morgan got his goodnight kiss from Brandy!
And we mustn't forget Mr. Smiths goodnight kiss!:P
The next day Morgan and Mary-Ann convinced us to have a picnic down in the lower field. The smell of the clover was so strong it made our heads swim:) The girls are going to go back down in the next few days to pick as much as they can before we mow down there so I will have enough for soap. It was so wonderful. Ignore the old lady on the left. I couldn't figure out how to crop me out of it:P That's my "Mmmmmm, don't THINK so!" look:P Morgan had bit a chip and then started to use it to shoot his brother...Theron wasn't impressed:)
Morgan and I had to have a little talk about appropriate pretending. It's difficult at times but he has such a willing heart and he's learning quickly. Such a wonderful blessing.
Pappy and Morgan hamming things up. He sure loves his Pappy:)
Morgan wanted to take a picture of all of us for his scrapbook of his visit here.
Theron sitting among the thornless thistles, queen annes lace and clover. He was busy trying to smell it all:)
Morgan wanted this picture too:) We were getting ready to head back uptop so we could finish getting the afternoon tasks done.
Pappy is teaching Morgan to run the small tractor. We were using it to carry the chairs and such back up to the house:) It has been such a blessing to have the boys with us. The Lord has been so merciful. It's been 6 days already. Seems like it's just flying by. The boys will phone their mom and dad tomorrow. It's our off Sunday as our fellowship has gone for their annual fellowship campout. I wish we could have gone this year but we had so much going on for this weekend so we decided not to. Morgan is so excited about going to fellowship. I am making him a pair of britches and a nice shirt to wear for next Sabbath. Theron has a pair now but he needs a shirt so I'll work on both of those this week. Well, I just wanted to share our last few days with you. It's awful late and I must be to my bed. Have a very blessed Lords Day! God be with thee! Sister Lori { Last Page } { Page 170 of 230 } { Next Page } |
