Blessings!

Here at Heavenly Acres we can get too tired to breathe and other times we find sweet moments to just have a little fun:)

Our girls were out today trying their talents at taken nostalgic looking pictures in black&white and sepia. Our Mary-Ann really enjoy those and is teaching our Sarah how to take pictures from a different angle. Not just for the sake of taking pictures but for the artistic benefit of it. Anyway, this was just another little moment that God used to prove to me that even though these two sisters can bicker with the best of them, they can also have fun and meaningful moments together.

Just a little sidenote on that...I would often tell them that my brothers and I NEVER fought as children. Strangely that's very true. I have often pleaded with them to learn to love each other and treat each other with kindness. To set aside their differences etc. Since my brothers and I never fought I really didn't understand that sibling rivalry thing. Well, I hear from so many folks say that they fought with their siblings right and left and now are the very best of friends. Soooooooo...Miss Mary-Ann says to me one day, "Mom, just think how much Sarah and I will be the bets of friends one day." I asked, "What makes me think you'll EVER be friends?" She says, "Well, you and your brothers NEVER fought and now you never even speak to each other or see each other...I think we'll be like _______ and be best friends instead cuz we fight all the time!" Maybe she has something there:P

OKay enough of that on to my original focus...

Sarah was trying to create a nostalgic flavor with this one of our Mary-Ann in her vintage style clothing (she loves this style) This was taken in our lower field.

The next one is Miss Mary-Ann next to the side of the house. Just outside her bedroom window is this little sanctuary where I usually do my personal morning devotions:)

Next is our Sarah. Miss Mary-Ann wanted a little playful action so as to look NOT posed:)

And in the same place at the lower field she took this of Miss Sarah.

In this next one, Miss Sarah had tossed the hat and lost it...she was searching for it in the overgrowth that we haven't taken the brushhog to yet:P

A few of the favorites!

We noticed in some of the pictures that Miss Mary-Ann's dress seems lowcut but in fact, it has an ivory camisole that come up rather high but seems washed out in the pictures. She wants to sew down some lace so that it defines it better. She wants to take new pictures when it's done so she can decide which of them she wants to put in at the fair this year.

Well, I just wanted to share our daughters best friends moment with you. We are so blessed with such wonderful girls, we thank our Lord every day for them. I pray that their own children will have these moments one day.

God be with thee!

Lovely pictures! I did notice the camisole - but it does trick the eye a little bit. However the flavor of the pictures and your daughter is one of modesty, so it didn't make sense for the cut to be that low. :)

My brothers and I were best of friends. Now we rarily talk to each other . . . but the reasons for that, I think, is because dh and I are walking in the Light and they perfer to be in darkness.

I was mulling it over last night, my brother Adam has always loved children. He is very close to his girlfriend's nieces and nephews. He wants nothing to do with my son! I think this is because when he is around us he sees what a family can be like, and it makes him hunger for it and envy me. Otherwise, I can't account for his ability to get along with all toddlers except his own nephew!

~~Sounds like my brothers. One turned to drugs and crime and away from the family in his adult years. Long story! And the other married a woman that really wasn't family oriented and they are both athiests. They have two daughters that my brother just adored but cannot stand to be around let alone be pleasant to any of my children. Very interesting. It's sad but we are blessed nonetheless:)

God be with thee!

Sister Lori ~

Love the photos ~ I love taking photos and then adding the sepia too...... so old fashioned!
Have a great day!

gloria

~~She used to do the sepia treatment on the computer but our new digital camera actually has a sepia option:) We are thankful for the digital camera for sure because our Mary-Ann takes hundreds of pictures at a time. Then we can print only the ones she likes:)
God be with thee!

What beautiful pictures, I love the look of them.
I really don't remember my two brothers and I fighting much if at all. Im sure there were a few tiffs. I was the only girl, so I got my way most of the time, lol.
Thanks for sharing the pictures, as usuall I enjoyed my visit.

~~I was the only girl AND the baby so you can imagine how spoiled I was:P I'm blessed by your visit.

Lovely pictures! I must admit that my favorites are Miss Sarah looking for the hat, and Miss Mary Ann in the last photo.

Beautiful young ladies....thank you for showing us!
