A Time to be Joyful!

Blessings!

What a time to be joyful for us! Our daughter has agreed, to allow us to have our two grandsons for a whole month! We will be picking them up from my parents, meeting them halfway (they live 1100 miles away:s), on the 23rd of this month!

I cannot tell you how excited and blessed we feel right now. The boys are 6 and 2 years old. Lot's of preparation is happening to accomodate them. We haven't seen them since last summer when we got to visit with them for a day at my parents home. I won't go into their homelife but suffice to say we pray we will be able to be the positive and godly influence these boys so richly deserve.

It will be quite different for them here for sure. The eldest boy spoke with us on the phone yesterday and he asked all kinds of questions. Although he knows most of this, he has not been expose to our way of life here. He was shocked that we don't have tv and that electronic games are not allowed to come here. He told us he'd get bored. We assured him that he will be so busy with Pappy and Uncle Matt that he won't have time to be bored:)

He calls us Blue Nana and Pappy:) The Blue Nana came about because my mother, who lives near him and has the most contact with them, is also a Nana. The only picture he has of us has me in a blue dress...ergo the name Blue Nana:) Isn't it funny how children will simply work things out in their own minds? And we, as adults, always try to interfere in an attempt to make things easy for them. When they've known it all along:)

Well, I just can't express our joy over all this. So much to do in so little time:P Okay...off to get some gates made for doorways (we have a pool and a 2 year old coming that thinks he can swim:s).

God be with thee!

Sister Lori

I'm so happy for you! A quick story...My mom did not spend a lot of time with my grandma who lived in another state, but she would let me go and visit her every summer for about a month. My mother, who did not care for any type of religion, would not ever answer my questions concerning the subject. It was my grandma, who on those short vacations to her house, taught me all about the Lord, and placed that light in my heart, that still burns today. Without her, who knows where I'd be. Praying for you for a safe trip and a great time with your grandchildren!
Blessings,
Sara

I'm sure you will be nothing but a blessing to those children. And I'm also sure that they will not be bored with all there is to do at your place.

Sister Lori I am so happy for you and pray that you will enjoy your time with your grandbabies. My girls have a "pink grandma". They have called her pink grandma since they were little. She always has had pink cheeks, hence the name. ::giggle:: Even my soon to be 14 yr. old still refers to her as pink grandma.
Blessings,
Miki

As I am also a Grandmother, I can not imagain one month with out seeing the little ones, so I share with you in the excitement of having those little ones over. I do hope they don't get to bored..lol...It is so strange how it is now a days, what happened to climbing trees, looking for frogs and enjoying the wonders that the Lord has given us...hummmm....this generation is surely missing out..Enjoy them, but get rest before they arrive..lol Blessings your way...Debbie
