Be Ye Separate

Ponders of Joy

Blessings!

   This evening, as the sun sinks beyond the tips of the mountains that surround our valley, I watch with a sense of peaceful joy, our little farmstead as it slowly falls to sleep.

   The animals fed, milking done, duck pools washed and refilled, the 4 tons of new hay waiting to be moved to it's final place in the portable barn.

   Out of the corner of my eye I see a movement. I turn my head to see the last of the chickens meandering toward the henhouse. The others, already nesting comfortably inside, humming and swaying in a peaceful rhythm.

   Here and there a goat hums out their goodnight wishes. The cat playfully tugs at the dandylion, waiving in the gentle breeze that brushes across our homestead this time of the evening.

  I recall a quaint memory of childhood. My brothers and I laying in the grass, picking the dandylions and rubbing them under our chins to see if we like butter.

   I am brought back to here and now by the familiar screech of the little bats that live in the trees, swooping and weaving in a gentle dance as they go about their work keeping our night time pests from invading our heavenly domain.

   As I finish this post, I am listening to the ducks humming their lullaby to each other as I watch a few of their heads begin to drop in gently slumber.

   I am humbled. I am blessed. I am awed. What have I done to deserve such wonder? Thank you Lord.

Tea Parties are so much fun!

Sister Lori,
We love tea parties!!! We are planning one for the next month with our friends out on our property!! We can't wait!!!

We had a history day in which we chose one year with several other families. We lunched and gave presentations all day based on the characters in history for that day. Our dresses and suites were similiar to you and the girls. Your outfits remind me of that day. Just lovely.

Your dresses and hats look just wonderful!! And I love the sepia pics!
