Blessings!

Behold...the egg! This is our very first egg from this flock. We are assuming the owner of this fine specimen is none other than our one and only Buff Banty:) We also had no idea how old it was so we took pictures for posterity and threw away the real deal:P

This girls were so impressed with it's size that they wanted this next picture to be featured here as well.

As you can see, it's quite tiny:^O

Today was quite a productive day for us. As you know, the girls and friends spent the night down at their "camp". At 1:30 am this morning I hadn't heard a peep from anyone down there and was finally able to sleep myself. At 2:30 we were roused from a sound sleep by our Mary-Ann telling us that one of our little guests had thrown up down at camp and was now in the house with her. At that time she had no fever and seemed like she was just tired so we waited it out. She threw up again at 6am and had just started developing a little fever.

I emailed mom and mid morning mom was here to pick up her poor girl and took her home to cuddle in her own bed:) We were told this evening that so far nothing more has happened and it seems that she's on her way to being well once again:)

And just so the others are duly credited...the other three stayed the entire night down at "camp":) Perhaps the next time they'll all make it through the night:)

I went in for my ultrasound on my throat this afternoon. We won't know results for a few days yet so if you think of us, we would appreciate a little prayer of healing:)

We got back home and were able to do a little before it was simply too hot to do outside things. The girls and I were able to start cleaning up my sewing room which desparately needed it:P We are getting ready for a big sewing project over the next week so we really need the space.

We waited until 8:30 to begin the outside stuff again starting with the milking of the goats. We got the animals fed and settled. The duck pens were cleaned and new pool water done. We checked on our Delta but she still doesn't have any new babies yet. Any day now!:)

The barn got a good cleaning, which was dearly in need, all the mangers of all the animals were packed tight and fence lines checked. The does pens really need a mowing again so hopefully we'll get to that tomorrow.

As we were winding down and it was beginning to turn to dusk, I went to the henhouse to do a headcount before closing them in for the night. I counted and was short one. I counted again and was still short one. I went into the house to grab a flashlight (we don't have electricity in the barn or henhouse) and went back out to recount once more. I counted and sure enough...they were all there...THAT'S when I found the egg! What a real surprise! You see, I didn't think a hen could lay as young as 3 1/2 months! It seems to belong to our only Buff Banty. Anyway, we are thrilled:)

God has provided us with so much and even more than we ever imagined. Do we deserve it for all our hard work and dedication? No! But we are blessed that He has seen fit to reward the work of our hands:)

   Well, off to my bed!

God be with thee!

You two really crack me up! LOL

Congratulations on your very first egg! You know, I never cease to be excited when I collect mine even now. They are little miracles I think. Also, I certainly will be in prayer for your health sweet friend.

Amy

~~Blessings!
I wish I had thought of the "CRACK" line:)
Thank you for your prayers, they are truly felt:) We should know anything come Tuesday or Wednesday.
I get so excited over just about everything around here:) The first sight of green growing out of a wildly planted garden, the fruits and vegetables, the eggs, new babies, getting milk!:) God is so good:)
God be with thee!
