Be Ye Separate

Just Plain Beautiful!

Blessings!

   There is no other way to put it...today is just plain beautiful!

   Our morning tasking is done, with no place to go and no company coming, we are enjoying a very peaceful and relaxing day here.

   The sun is shining, the matriarch duck Adelaide is doing her rounds checking on everyone and quacking her orders for the day, the chickens are busy, the little rooster is practicing (maybe he's talking to Adelaide?), the goats are singing, the horse is harmonizing and the neighbors pigs are joining in:) Our little farmstead is awake and kicking:)

   As I gaze out across our farmstead, I can see the Lords hand in it all. He has provided us with all that we survey and beyond.

   The dog wanders over and laps up some pool water thinking she just might get away with jumping in this time but she's quickly shooed away and told to play in the yard. She runs out onto the grass beneath the tree and lays down quickly with her toy in her teeth as if she had meant to do that all along:)

   The cat sits on her throne above the deck and watches her little kingdom, sizing up her prospective victims (tall grass waiving in the breeze, a tarp flapping that wasn't quite secured enough on the side of the holding pen...the dogs tail!) Suddenly she leaps from her perch and sure enough...the dog's tail becomes her focus and off they run together in an unspoken banter of playfulness.

   My dear husband meanders down the yard while the horse calls to him. He calls out "horse" and Mr. Smith (the horses name) perks up and reaches his nose through the gate waiting for the treat that surely is coming his way. He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a piece of apple and he pats him on the side of the face and goes on to the buck pen where Manny is already climbing on the gate to get his treat from "the man"!:)

   The girls are going back and forth with the ducklings, releasing them for the first time into a new walking pen they built over the last few days. The giggles of our girls and the peepings of protest from the ducklings brings a smile to my face.

   Ah, the wonders that God has created. The wonderful moments that sometimes seem so small they go almost unnoticed. I want to be sure that I am always aware of the blessings that flow over us each day. From a small voice asking if I want a cup of coffee to the whispered giggles of our daughters, from the loving looks from our sons to the laughter of the horse, from the song of the goats to the melody of the ducks and chickens, Lord make me always and forever aware and thankful:)
