Be Ye Separate

A quick update

Blessings!

Here's a quick update from last night. This morning while having breakfast, our vet phoned and asked us to hold off on culling the goat. Good thing he called when he did because we had plans of taking her out to the field to the burn pile to cull her first thing after breakfast.

Anyway, the update is that he believes that the test was a false positive and wants to retest her. He says that a false positive can happen but there is no such thing as a false negative. Therefore if the test comes up positive again, we do the deed but he wants to do it so he can dispose of her without having any more contamination here on our little farm. If it comes up negative then it's over:)

So we are praying hard here:) We simply want everything to be healthy here if it be the Lords will. Otherwise I will have to throw out all milk until we have the rest of the girls tested and then retested in 30 days:s

The waiting will be the hardest for us. But we are hopeful:)

Thank you for your prayers. And if you think if us, we would appreciate continued prayers in this matter. He will do the new draw on Tuesday and the result should be back by Friday. So we'll see what the Lord has planned for us.

God be with thee!

Sister Lori

Sorry to hear this...
we had a goat develop an abcess...took her into the vet and he immediately diagnosed it as CL. We came home heartbroken...mostly my son who was this goat's owner. He slept next to her in our utility room that night.
We talked with a man at the vet's office who had a bit more experience with goats...He didn't think it was CL. Thankfully, it was not! She had eaten hay that day...and punctured the inside of her cheek.
Do check this out further...I will be praying that it is indeed NOT CL!

Blessings,
Laurie

I'm glad there is still hope and I will continue to pray that all is well. Thanks so much for your hen advice! Would you believe that I just "stocked up" on Easter eggs at the Dollar Store? (Wooden and plastic, they were like ten cents a bag!) I don't know why I didn't think of it, but I'm so grateful that you mentioned it! We'll see what happens... :o)
