Another Day that the Lord Has Made!Blessings! What a beautiful day the Lord has made! We are basking in His perfect glory of a sunny day. His grace and mercy are evident in everything that surrounds us. His provision is obvious if one only looks in the right direction:) The girls are busy preparing noon meal and so I have a moment to just sit and get a breath. Our day started out like any other day. Milking goats, feeding animals, cleaning feet, letting chickens and ducks loose for the day, raking up loose hay and rebagging it for later bedding, made breakfast, cleaned up after that, swept and dusted. Monday's is our normal laundry day. Last week we did it on our normal baking day because we had something interfere with our normal routine. That used to frazzle me but I've learned to just take things in stride and it all works out in the end:) We got all the laundry done and have most of the afternoon to just enjoy the pool and sunshine:) Although we do need to scrub the kitchen floor again as we had company and a couple drizzly days so the mud takes over if we aren't careful:P We'll do that after noon meal and then we can just relax a little and enjoy our time together. This evening I have to go through the go-down and make sure the shelves are fronted and that the list is correct. Sometimes someone might take something out and forget to mark it. Then I can do some sewing before bed:) Our little Nigerian is doing much better. We will take the shunt out this evening. We hope to hear from the vet today about the results of her tests. It would be nice to be able to move her back into her pen. We also think she may be having a reaction to Penicilin. We stopped giving it to her yesterday and today is the first day she's been acting normal. She also has several balding spots on her sides that weren't there before. Hopefully it's nothing and she will just heal and things will get back to normal for her. We made the decision to take the buckling to auction this coming Saturday. He's just eating and taking up space and is just one more chore to do that isn't going to really provide anything. So off he goes. He's a nice fat little thing so hopefully we'll at least get back what we paid for him. We continue to get 2 1/2 gallons of milk a day from the two Nubians (Twister and Brandy). And we got our buck! He's so handsome:) He's enjoying his new pen. He had never been around electric fencing! All I can say is...He's humbled!:) Poor guy. We have come to find that many of the chickens we purchased from the feedstore have turned out to be, well, different:) The "birdman" that they had working for them for many years left earlier this year and so he was not there to do the birds. The folks that did it this year were basically just warehousers and they really don't know about them. Well, that didn't help me much cuz I don't know what the babies are supposed to look like. Well, except for RIR's:) Rhodies were all we ever raised when I was growing up and until this year I had no desire to raise a collection. Anyway, the birds they sold me have turned out to be quite the WRONG birds:) Here's the thing...the Barred Rocks have turned out to be Cochins, the Auracana's turned out to be Silver Laced Wyandottes, the "banties" are Buff somethings (very feathery feet) and a Golden Laced Sebright, and those last Sexlinks turned out to be...Silver Laced Wyandottes!!! ugh:s I'm not UNhappy about it but I really wanted Auracanas and Barred Rocks:D At least we are positive that the Khaki Campbells are KC's:) And the Muskovey's are definitely Muskovey's:) And the Nigerian Dwarfs and Nubians are what they appear to be;) Well, the noon meal is ready and the girls are waiting. We'll eat our meal then get out front to the garden and greenhouse. Planting finally!:) Have a very blessed day in the Lord! God be with thee!
